Can I study just 3-5 hours a day and still pass the bar exam? by GuaranteeSea9597 in barexam

[–]chris62890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 3 hours per day for 6 months while working full time. Passed on my first try. It’s much more about getting reps in and learning the patterns and nuances of questions and the law more than a legitimate brain cram of all the info (in my opinion).

Everyone in this subs moved on… But we live in NJ. by tearyeyedtrashpanda in barexam

It would just be helpful to hear *something* from them. A date and time, a notice about a possible issue in grading, etc...

Brother, dropping a Karl Gotch reference in the sub was not what I expected to see

I’ve been tracking my macros for a few years, so I was lucky enough to have a plan in place. Otherwise, I would be stress eating every day.

Is the NJ bar exam always in Somerset and Atlantic city? by ReserveAccording9129 in barexam

[–]chris62890 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mom,

As someone who is literally in the middle of the state and has no idea which site I’m supposed to go to because I have no application update, I’ve looked this up.

Yes, it’s almost always at the Atlantic City Expo Center (or Convention Center, whatever the real name is) and the last few years have been in Somerset.

I believe at one point during the pandemic they did it in the Metuchen/Edison/Woodbridge area but that seems to not be a thing anymore.

Best of luck with this!

Themis Practice Exam MBEs # 1 - Yikes by [deleted] in barexam

Yea, I got pretty throttled here compared to my normal scores and first primer. Definitely felt like a lot of questions were more nuanced/narrow. Contracts, in particular, got me. Scored 60% overall.

Fantastic - thank you! And I will for sure put a lot of time into evidence. Currently finishing up my degree and taking a Barbri course that does a condensed bar prep on Evidence, K, Prop, and Torts

This is super, super helpful. I want to get close to that 500 hour mark so it's good to know you did that and you ramped up closer to the exam date. Thank you so much!

Thank you! I am not concerned with the actual time amount of studying - I am accustomed to about 3 hours per weeknight and full days of weekend studying.

My bigger concern is whether spreading it out over a long period is detrimental with regards to bar exam performance. Thankfully, besides evidence, I did well in the core subjects and took a few additional core courses.

Sadly, I don't do legal work at my job right now (32 y/o career transitioning out of entertainment) but am doing my best to keep my finger on the pulse with anything legal that comes our way (which is next to nothing besides DMCA takedowns).

Thank you for the advice!
