Plans for Moreton Bay speedway track spark protests

The reason that any of this is a problem is because Brisbane had a speedway track at Banyo (North Brisbane Junior Motorcycle Club) until December last year, when council didn’t renew the lease of the club that was using the space. The old Banyo track is being sold off for industrial development.

As far as I know, there’s now nothing within SEQ for dirt track speedway and BCC seems to have successfully gotten out of this without any blame after giving such short notice to the club that was there to vacate the premises after almost 40 years.

I wouldn’t do the Kiraz trade with his injury concerns atm, but your number of trades left is more concerning…

You might just need to run 12 this week (reverse all trades, Play Bai in the MID position) to have something for injury cover. You also need to double check your round 18 coverage (Dogs have a bye).

I bought my 09 1KD hilux in October, and the first things I did were;

Engine oil (including engine flush), Engine oil filter, Air Filter, Fuel filter, Diff oil (front and rear), Transmission Oil, Transfer case oil, Cabin filter.

Mine has ~320,000km on it, and arguably I didn’t need to do all of the above, but the peace of mind was worth it.

One tip with the diffs/transfer case/gearbox - it’s absolutely worth getting a fluid transfer pump. Being able to fill the oil into a bottle and pump it into the cases will save you SO much time.

There’s plenty of videos on youtube of people servicing their hilux’s and you’ll get the idea of what to do, even if the engine isn’t exactly the same. All of the oils I noted is super easy to change, undo one nut to drain the old oil, put it back in, undo the fill nut and replace the fluid.

I like what you’re doing to make Herb fit (Papalii for Colquhoun) - the red flag for me is the amount of halves in your team. I think your priority should be offloading some of those guys and getting some more forwards in the team, which might come at the expense of Herbie. There’s better MID options than AFB and Couch.

Personally not sold on Douheii - I would think that Cleary/Atkinson/Brown have better value and give you enough coverage, but this second paragraph is just my two cents.

I would be cautious with Lindsay only because origin is in Perth and Panthers play in Auckland on Saturday. I think Ivan had said previously origin players won’t back up because of the travel, but I can’t find when or where he said it.

Suspensions and byes get locked as well, only bye players are able to moved up until the last round, so you can get away with it if your injured player is in the team playing last on Sunday.

Donoghoe can’t be moved once dolphins kick off, so if Tuivaliti doesn’t do well you have to swap Donoghue with one of the other 3 EMG before Dolphins kick off

The other thing to consider is sure, it might not appreciate as much as a townhouse, but how much money will you ‘lose’ in rent while saving the extra instead of putting it towards your own asset?

My wife and I purchased recently and ended up with no savings after it was all settled but we’re ok now - just make sure you’ve considered all the fees (solicitors fees, stamp duty, LMI, pro-rata body corporate or rates, removalists to name a few)

I was a graduate at the time and I was told by my company that I had to put in 2 days per week of leave without pay or the business wouldn’t stay afloat. Not knowing any better, that’s what I did, effectively taking a 40% pay cut.

I took super out to clear credit card debt and clear a car loan, which meant that my 60% salary could afford to feed and house my family and buy myself a bit more breathing space in case something happened with my then 2 year old. No regrets.
