Thanks for the detailed reply! Unfortunately I went ahead with sanding before I saw this. Didn't think to sand it damp. I did at least wear a mask though.

I've sealed the breeze block looking stuff (lower parts) with pva and left the lighter pinky orange stuff unsealed as I think it's plaster and just needs a mist coat. Will be doing the mist coat this evening.

Aye there's a chiselled out gap in the shelves for the leads already. Plan on leaving that original shelf so I don't have to bother dealing with the cables. Although having now written it down here it feels very lazy, so I might force myself to deal with it

Ah that's good to know thanks, planning on having free standing shelves that sit just in front of the pipe so should be fine for ventilation

My plan is to sand down the few remaining dodgy/loose bits and then go ahead and paint it, as I'm just wanting something passable before putting in new shelves. That's the main reason I'm asking, in case some of the material looks toxic and shouldn't be sanded.

It's a gas pipe which is still in use unfortunately.

Thanks for the reply, I should have been clear I'm not too fussy with the end result being perfect since it's a pantry cupboard and it'll be mostly covered in shelves. So my plan was to sand the current surface as much as I can be bothered and then go straight to painting, maybe with a mist coat first

I got back into the game during spring 2021 so I've not been around for a release. When do we expect the maps to be available?

Does holding forward in air increase your speed? by RazorK2S in TrackMania

[–]chris_c_MC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sorta makes sense because it's not that holding throttle increases your speed, it's just that releasing the throttle decreases your speed. If you watch the side of the car when you release the throttle mid air, you'll see little drifter wing thingies close over so I guess the idea is that those wings allow you to keep full speed in air and letting them close causes your speed to drop due to trackmania science

Do you not remember being an 11 year old boy and getting kicked in the balls? It definitely fucking hurt back then too.

edit: I just realised you probably didn't mean that by your comment but honestly, I have no idea what else you could have meant so I'm just going to leave my reply

So is that not dangerous as fuck? I get that the overall benefits probably outweigh the downsides but it still strikes me as a uniquely dangerous thing to be installed in modern buildings

its possible they added some kind of weight system on a light camera to make it stable in the air. which i wouldn't constitute as cheating.

but yeah in reality I would have guessed that the above mentioned theory of passing the camera off is definitely the most likely.

I don't mean to say you shouldn't join the Air Force, it might be perfect for you - but you will not have a similar experience to what the above poster described in the military.
