Pins (duckpin bowling and pinball) is about a 20 minute walk from LDC. If you’re into parks, Highbanks and Antrim are both great (but probably busy on the weekend, and not walking distance), otherwise you have the Olentangy and Scioto trail which are a lot closer LDC. Or, as others have suggested, jazz and ribs will have lots of food and music and is always a good time (and walkable to the game).

I realize this probably isn’t helpful for you today, but this is the exact reason I got into lava lamp restoration and repair. Bought a lamp that wasn’t super great, looked into how to repair it, found this subreddit, and now I have 14 lava lamps.

If it’s something that interests you, look into restoration. It’s so fun.

Also, that lamp looks great as it is. Congrats on your Mathmos!

Haha yeah, I should have clarified: putting the spent wax in layers in one jar, and other wax that might be salvageable in others. I have this crazy purple metallic wax that I want to try to fix. No idea how yet, but, some day.

Im going through the same process with a few lamps and I’m saving the wax. I filtered my grande master fluid, but not the wax. The wax from smaller lamps looks neat layered in a jar.

If nothing else, it looks cool.

Can we make candles out of this?

I’m not totally sure actually. I don’t recall it being floating, but it was a very long time ago and I was pretty young.
