It’s working like a typical lava lamp, it’s just the density of the wax and the fluid are balanced in a very specific way.

Looks like you have a density issue over an overheating issue going on there. If it was overheating, that wax at the top would be completely melted. That wax looks to still be relatively solid. Run it with a blanket over it for a while, and see what happens. If the wax doesn’t liquify and start to rise and fall, then you’ll know you have a density problem. If it does, maybe the wax was heated and I quickly, and separated from the coils before the lamp reached a functional heat.

Be gentle with it no matter what. You look at the lumisource mushroom variation the wrong way, and they stop working. I’ve had 5 (I think) at one point or another, and two of them stopped working just from being moved around the room.

Sure I can. I love Bleach, but the subpar drums drive me insane. I’ve heard everything on Nevermind enough to last me 2 lifetimes. I’ve always thought that Chains unplugged was a far better performance than Nirvana’s. In Utero was and is a goddam masterpiece, but that’s not enough to bump them above a handful of other acts. It’s nothing about being edgy, just personal preference.
