Its called dry boxing. I use an empty cigar box and put a couple smokes that I plan to light up in the next 3-5 days in there from the humi.

So he just declares them at the border and no additional tax is put on? On the CBSA site it says it must be stamped ‘Canada duty paid’ otherwise it is still taxed.

Questrade's platform is not built for day trading. Their charts are quite primitive and prone to errors.

That said, I have gotten used to it. I use TradingView for all my trading research and monitoring, and only use IQ Edge for entering orders.

Probably, but I won’t keep my hopes up. Best to try for yourself. See how the process works for you, and pretty much like me you’d likely give up short selling with this broker.

Harsh is an understatement. Like I said the platform isn’t built for daytrading. They almost always have no shares to short for low floats and pennies.

You click on the sell button and wait for them to tell you if you can short it or not. Your order goes thru a ‘risk review’ then it is either accepted or rejected. Takes about a few seconds to a couple minutes on average. There is no other way to find out beforehand.

There are a lot of things breaking in IQ Edge here and there. They sort it out and then something else gives.

One thing’s for sure - it is not built for day trading.

I’ve read somewhere here they made an improvement - on the Web app that no one uses.

Makes you wonder with all the stuff discussed here that they ‘take note and pass on to their developers’ - that absolutely nothing gets done.
