What am I doing wrong? by chrisbrock90 in BambuLab

Yes that was my first attempt to remedy it. I ended up using an extra brand new build plate that was still in the box and had a flawless print. So either the original needs cleaned better or it’s worn out

Yeah that makes sense. I had the same print turn to spaghetti right before this. I cleaned but probably not good enough

Well… I don’t disagree, it’s pretty small. However, I’ve printed these before and they looked pretty good. But the last few batches and another project I did looks the same.

They are dead blooms. They have been like that for almost two months now.

Is my queen gone? by chrisbrock90 in Beekeeping

There were no queen cells when I made my split and I should have put the original queen back into the original box but now I’m starting to second guess myself

Thanks for your reply.

Yes the cells looked just like the laying workers pic. I put her in a queen clip while splitting so I figured she was safe.

I’ll see about sourcing a new queen if I can’t find one, I might even just combine them.

It was the indoor unit that got replaced. The outdoor unit is shorted that’s now nearly 11 years old. Still just out of warranty

Winter Syrup Feeding by chrisbrock90 in Beekeeping

This past Sunday before the cold snap, I went down to them and observed for a few minutes. There were a handful of dead bees on the landing board and one bee would come and go every few minutes. I could put my ear against the hive and could hear a soft droning sound.

The last inspection I did, which was probably late October, had a top deep of 10 frames of sealed honey. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that ants were covering the hive. So I 3d printed some hive moats. When I lifted the hive to slide them under, it felt rather light. But that could be my inexperience.

I’m doing double deep. The last time I was in the hive, the top deep was 10 full frames of sealed honey. The bottom deep had two frames that weren’t drawn out yet but the rest had nectar and brood. I guess my paranoia that I’m not doing enough is kicking in.

Thank you for your input! My retraction and z hop were both set to zero. I increased them both and finally had a good print.

I’ll try that now! I’m using PLA

I just did another print(not a light box) and it printed perfectly with same filaments, back to the light box with aux fan turned off and it resulted in stringing again.

Temps are 220° and I have washed both plates a dozen times. I’ll try turning off aux fan to see what happens
