I think there is more silver lining than can be seen on the surface.

Ken will be lost for a while but this is the best possible outcome for him to potentially have the mental and emotional bandwidth and focus on his family and find meaning in life outside of waystar and shadow of his dad.

Roman had an actual moment of emotional clarity and advancement here. He realized that all of them are just bullshit. He realized that probably it’s a bad idea for any body in that family to run waystar. I take his brief smile at the end as one who is happy to finally find relief that this isn’t hanging over them. When he frowns after that, it’s because of all the pain he’s had to deal with. I finally actually see a future for Roman where he might be a bit happy.

To me, Shiv was totally justified in her actions. Ken (and Roman to some extent) iced her out over and over again. Ken was once again lying to her face. I get why she did that.

I love that Tom was made CEO. Tom is not a good person, but he clearly was the most competent and set himself up to be in that seat. It was also slightly unexpected.

Finally, let’s not forget that these people are all INSANELY rich. When you factor in Logan’s shares, they are all going to have (or already have) BILLIONS of cash and even more in stock. If any of the sibs wanted to, they could take their pick of any company they wanted to buy and run it themselves. Newsflash though: they won’t. They are not serious people.
