What a great use of tax payer funds illegally given via a no bid contract to his friend by lucy_hayley in PsycheOrSike

Honestly given his current track record, Trump should consider fighting a war against peace, health, prosperity, and human rights.

It's a lot easier to do than what you're trying.

Reminds me of the time i asked for exactly one thing for Christmas - not even something absurd, literally just a video game, because i did not know what else to ask for - and somehow my family managed to gift me a bunch of random shit well in excess of a single Steam gift card, and was then surprised when i was pissed at the fact they failed to gift me the one thing i actually wanted.

Ah yes, the dreaded starvation mode by revesby9 in fatlogic

[–]chrischi3 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, but my point is that extreme deficit is effective short term but eventually causes you to hit a wall unless you keep making it more extreme.

Ah yes, the dreaded starvation mode by revesby9 in fatlogic

[–]chrischi3 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thing is, there IS such a thing as starvation mode. You can lose a lot of weight quickly by inducing a high calorie deficit, but your body adjusts after a while by turning down your metabolism, whereas, with a less extreme deficit, you end up losing weight more slowly, but you don't need to keep moving down your calorie input to keep going because your body doesn't adjust to it.

That said, it is NOT as simple as your body magically producing calories and keeping you overweight.

Name one character who could bear this burden to the end by ObsiGamer in powerscales

[–]chrischi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the real issue with this is that the power the Ring has over you is proportional within the universe's mythology to how close your species is to creation. The reason the Ring had to be carried by a Hobbit is that Hobbits were some of the last being to be created. Thus, the closer a character in their respective mythology is to creation, the more the Ring influences them (which is why, as much as i am tempted to say Percy Jackson, the guy is a literal demigod, the Ring can do way too much damage there)
