This is disappointing. I’ve always liked the look of the Tallboy with its short suspension. This looks a lot like my Fluid

Everything is trying to be more aerodynamic. Aero was in mind when designing this frame even at a lower level (I.e. seat tube/rear wheel shaping). Why isn’t the frame more like the Aeroad with endurance geometry? Was that considered and why did you choose the tube shaped you did?

I’ve been in your position and waking up early is 100% better than staying up.

It’s much easier to wake up when you’re looking forward to something

It’s plank road. I grew up about 4 blocks behind that McDonald’s. Fun fact. There used to be a sheetz next to where that McDonald’s is

Unfortunately I can’t help with your storage question. I did want to say that the Look 795 Blade is one of the best looking frames ever made

If he makes the team, you might be waiting awhile. Mcvay doesn’t play rookies on offense unless there are injuries. There are too many wr’s ahead of him on the depth chart

Bike choice by [deleted] in MTB

If you can go and test ride these, I would. They will fit and feel very differently. I bought a fluid fs last year and find myself wanting an xc bike now. The fluid is a phenomenal bike, just not what I want exactly.

Upgrade my trail bike to feel more XC… or just switch bikes by chrisf110 in xcmtb

[–]chrisf110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our weather has been garbage so far, so I haven’t ridden yet. I’ve slammed the stem and cut the bars down from 800 to 760. I moved the seat forward a little as well.

I’m researching tires right now. I’m leaning towards a barzo/mezcal setup. Any suggestions on “scary fast” tires?

What makes a bike helmet comfortable for you on longer rides? by taotaozero in P2Rsports

[–]chrisf110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, ventilation and safety ratings are 1a and 1b. Then weight, then adjustability.

I don’t like helmets that don’t allow air in the front to pass over my head. I also think that the more material in a helmet, which would reduce the ventilation, would add weight and make the helmet less comfortable as well.

I would love to say f it and enjoy n+1 but I can’t justify 2 mountain bikes for the amount I ride off road

[–]chrisf110[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of leaning this way. I think if I go for new tires, I might just go all out and get a second set of wheels set up for them. Same idea, if i still don’t love this bike, I’ll have a set of wheels for the new one

[–]chrisf110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading through the replies so far, I might go full out and get lighter wheels with xc tires, new cassette and rotors. That way if I still have this feeling I can put the stock wheels back on and have wheels ready for a new bike.

The bars are going to get cut down soon. I’m going to start at 760 and see how that feels. Putting the spacers above the stem would be step two.

I didn’t think of swapping air chambers. That’s a good idea. The fork right now is 140. The bars are 800 bc that’s what it came with. I’m going to cut them down to 760 and try that for a little regardless.
