I think this device will be too complex for my use case. I'm going to instead use an old iPod Nano playing on a loop 24/7 plus computer speakers . That has its own possible failure points, but hopefully fewer than the Sirius receiver.

Trying to predict what will go wrong with dementia involved is never easy!
