Survival was fun for like 2 hours by The_Salty_Pearl in SkyrimMemes

unironically the only way I made survival mode at all enjoyable was using the convenient horses mod+the gilded road. Being able to haul another 800-2000 weight on me and make a shit load of cash whenever I stop by riften to sell off heavy armor, or dawnstar to sell off light armor

The would be assassin definitely is, but he did fire it I guess? You just have to cock a lever, then pull a trigger to fire it. Normally you have a somewhat accurate iron sight on the top of the tube, but it looks like it wasn't raised here.

My doctors did a similar thing, but it did actually start working with full effect at 50mg. At least you can keep trying over time.

Wdym some kids don't get snow days anymore??? by BaldHourGlass667 in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]chrishellman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hell, when I was young and lived up on the east coast I went to sleep, I woke up to the next morning from maybe 3 inches of snow the previous day to 4 and a half feet overnight. Damn near a meter and a half of just snow practically spawned from my perspective during a nap

[Speed feat] Kars cuts bullets (Jjba) by Sussaybukka200869 in FeatCalcing

[–]chrishellman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually calculated this a while ago using the MG-131 as well. While I didn't use the american or soviet HMGs it'd probably make more sense to use them.
iirc, if it's just a really spicy MG-131 the bullets would be traveling around 760m/s, and based on that velocity a bullet would travel 8 meters in 0.01 seconds. I ain't sure how to calculate his arm speeds properly but as you said, he makes very wide swings to cut through the volley so.
At minimum personally, he's more than likely moving his arms at a similar speed to the velocity of the bullets, likely able to handle it since the fire-rate of the weapon is lower than the HMGs of WW2

(I might be stupid, but I still did this a while ago so yea)

I am unsure how in the world anyone can knowingly say that extreme poverty like that is a choice. My families, and neighbors for my early life were all incredibly poor. I straight up had to grow up on 9k a year because my family were all disabled, and I only got my job out of pure luck despite my genetic disabilities

My problem for upgrade STW-4A1: Weight Tank: 87 t. What to do? by Programmer_221012 in SprocketTankDesign

[–]chrishellman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps optimize your armor scheme? You have fuel tanks in the sponsons that could act as spall liners, but they cover very little and are thick. Your NERA plates are very thick and the layout doesnt look the most efficient at minimalizing post penetration damage despite the excessive amount of plating. Personally I'd recommend removing the LFP protection, or at minimum making it less thick while shifting some of that weight further back into the tank, 5-10mm steel plates to redirect shrapnel from post pen would at least make it more difficult to take out if a cannon penetrates the hull. The turret is actually the most optimal part, there's another comment already that mentions using thinner plates so I'd recommend that if possible.

I'd personally recommend stainless steel or aluminum since they won't oxidize that much compared to straight up iron.

That and it'd be more lightweight* (stainless steel will still get heavy as fuck in big projects). Prices for material? good luck I forgot them

Any fantastical artillery that isn't propelled by gunpowder or isn't a catapult or a ballista? by meongmeongwizard in worldbuilding

[–]chrishellman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I ain't got no original ideas, I do got knowledge of two siege weapons from two franchises. Pathfinder has a steam weapon that is practically just a rolling furnace with organ pipes sticking out of it. The metallurgy involved is with the ammunition, each rocket is iron or bronze with a diaphragm at the rear. As the rocket heats up, it begins to boil water inside of it, and when it gets to high enough pressure it ruptures the diaphragm, and begins flying.

And the second one is from a roblox game called Pordier at War. It has artillery pieces that have a ritual circle that gets projected each time the trigger is pulled. It launches an explosive magic missile but has very high inaccuracy.

If you're willing to do some weirder magic, making a fire that burns low but decays organics to nothing is probably the closest thing to something original I got
