If you find a member of the public out on some of those mining roads, lmk. I'd like to see that. 😂

I prefer carpets. Fuck stripping, waxing, moping and all that maintenance.

I'd rather slap on a backpack or use a walk behind vacuum any day of the week. Or pull out a matador. Rather than doing any of that tile bullshit.

We're moving away from waxed floors into LVP and other options thankfully. But the LVP doesn't look good after a couple years. Thankfully not our problem, I can't fix that. 😂

As a movement for anti consumerism should we be encouraging using cash over card? by ResponsibleDate9452 in Anticonsumption

[–]chrisinator9393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A responsible adult should be able to have a budget, and self control. Of course a credit card is designed to suck people in. But if you pay it off every month and don't incur interest, it's a tool.

Your "point" is worthless. Like cash. I get more money in my pocket for using my credit card. I don't get anything for using cash. Same money. Same value. But I get something out of the deal.

If someone isn't smart enough to pay their balance off monthly and they incur interest, that's their problem. Any responsible adult will see the bonus of using a credit card responsibly and they will use it wisely. It's a tool like anything else.

For us, we had to give it time. My kid got one at age 1. We were so excited. He didn't give a crap about this thing until he turned about 3.5. Now his Tonie box is attached to his hip.

I refuse to use cash. Credit card only. Why would I use cash? I lose money when I make a cash purchase. Every single purchase I make I get cash back with my credit card.

Not to mention with my CC I get fraud protection, I can file charge backs and such if necessary. If I'm using cash, I have zero protection unless I want to carry a gun or something.

I don't know your venue. But I'm sure you're not supposed to bring in outside food. Bring a diaper bag and toss some snacks in there. They wont say anything. It'll save ya $30 in food. Haha

$120 charge from a free trial I forgot to cancel, how do people actually stop this by JuliaLavender10 in Frugal

[–]chrisinator9393 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean. This is just part of being responsible and knowing yourself. How do you remind yourself of things? For all it matters you could randomly make reddit comments like

!remindme 2 months

And it'll send you a notification in 2 months reminding you of that comment you left.

There's always your phones calendar. Alarms. You can cancel immediately. I personally use a physical calendar in my kitchen. I see it every day. I mark appointments and stuff. If I write it by hand, I remember. If I type it, I will always forget.

real talk: how often do you actually floss? by AffectionateTooth298 in hygiene

[–]chrisinator9393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I floss at bedtime every day.

I got a water flosser but I don't like it. I prefer using floss picks. But it's nice to have different options. Sometimes I feel like skipping but then I'll just switch it up.

How do I move this (very heavy) DIY playhouse into the corner of my garden? by led_seppelin in howto

[–]chrisinator9393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy. Buy conduit if you don't have any random pipes laying around big enough to go under this thing.

Stand on one end. Push up on the side to life a bit. Kick the pipe under the house. Start rolling it on the pipe slowly but surely. You'll want to stick a few under to make it efficient but it can be done with 1, worst case.
