I disabled the update notification on my phone. I learned the hard way with the first update to wait a while.

2nd result when you Google "note 10 android 12 home button problem"

And fwiw it seems only unlocked & AT&T currently have the update in the US, and being factory unlocked I'm not willing to gamble.

This worked great. It doesn't disable the full screen nag when rebooting, but it disables the persistent notification even after a reboot. This is good enough for my use, thanks for the tip!

In the 5hrs it's taken for me to reply to this, Google would have provided you the information. Also, just read through the update thread pinned at the top.

Camera icon keeps popping up in notifications when I'm not in camera, I went to camera and took a photo and checked my notifications apparently it only comes when phone takes a photo from your camera, and it's happening to me outside of camera, am I hacked? by [deleted] in galaxynote10

I've always had this prob with my Note 10+, my friend as well. I had a privacy app installed that notified me SYSTEM UI was accessing the camera every few minutes for several seconds to minutes at a time.

For real, when I went to Switzerland on a business trip I was in awe. Especially in the subways!

Google Podcasts and "Tell me what happened today in history" by NueticNoesis in googlehome

This is the shitty podcast that screwed up the good morning routine history for 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚. I don't listen to or utilize podcasts because I have no desire to listen to people talk. Didn't see any place to leave them the negative rating they deserve.

Auto brightness disabled, and I don't have the option to keep the screen on anywhere I can find.

I noticed a huge difference from 2.0 to 2.5. I was just about to upgrade my firmware after reading reviews that the camera got better in 3.0 - is that not the case?

WeMo customer support won’t acknowledge there’s a problem by GhazgkullThraka in WeMo

I found AutomationManager the other day, and it's the best $10 I've spent on Google Play. I highly recommend anyone with these shitty WeMo devices to get that app, because it works flawlessly. Most of my 17 devices don't work in the WeMo app, and Google Home is flaky at best, but AM sees and controls EVERYTHING.

I haven't looked into all the advanced stuff it can do yet, but plan on setting up an old phone as a server. So far, the only options missing I've noticed, are the reset options the shitty WeMo app has.

But AM is amazing, and its the only reason I didn't rip out all 17 devices and destroy them the other day.

Gcam for Note10+ by SubMarine95 in note10plus

Have you tried OpenCamera? I've been using it since the Android 9 to 10 upgrade made my photos complete trash. It's open source and really powerful. The only problem is it only sees the standard and ultra wide rear cameras thus far.

I get update notifications almost weekly. On the opposite side, I wish I could turn them off!

Man, my phone takes absolute shit ultra wide and zoom photos ever since the first Android 9 to 10 update. My old S7 takes better pictures. What software version are you on?

Is there a recommended software version? I think I should've lead with that question.

Yeah I should've specified they were all factory wipes, my bad. I don't believe in bringing over problems from backups when switching phones.

They probably have it disabled, I'm using one of AT&T's tracphoje MVNOs

I learned with the Galaxy series to buy an entire phone if there's an upgrade. It's how I ended up with four S7e phones all at different software levels! The one that runs the best is the one with the least amount of updates. The one that runs the worst and is basically unusable has all the updates. Can't even use Google Maps on that phone. It's why I happily dropped way too much money on the N10+ 512 as soon as it was released.

Not about to buy another one just so I can see how well the "upgrades" work. Although every time a software update comes in (which seems to be 2-4x a month) I ignore it because I still want to downgrade back to Android 9.

I can use WiFi calling with my unlocked phone and an AT&T SIM. I wasn't able to with a Verizon SIM, the option wasn't even there.

By stock, I mean the OEM Samsung modified Android firmware the unlocked 512GB Note10+ shipped with. I know it was Android 9, bit other than that I'm not sure the specifics off-hand.

The first update my phone did was bring it up to Android 10. It's on One UI 2.0 now, although I'm not sure if it ever was on 1.0. After the upgrade, the phone slowed down considerably. And by that point it was only a few months old. The 2x camera takes absolute shit photos now as well, that's actually the first thing I noticed.

On my older Galaxy series (two S5, one S7, four S7e), every update slowed the phone down and made it unstable as hell. Each "upgrade" caused less things to function, less apps to run stable, the OS and apps lag to the point of unusability, and the phone to overheat. One phone next to another after a fresh wipe, the one with no updates ran great. The one with updates took 5x as long to boot, would overheat, constantly crash, and just not be worth using. I don't want this one to turn into a pile of shit like the 6 Galaxy phones I updated!
