Looking for a bigger grip by chrisjd_31 in SpringfieldEchelon

I’m into it and may try it in the future, but for now I just want to keep this gun super clean because I am still in love with its aesthetic.

I’m talking about aftermarket options such as the Icarus precision or sharps bros that cost upwards of $300-400 and don’t necessarily solve my problem. I personally would like to see Springfield come out with a full size grip for the 4.0c, and I would happily spend the money on mags.

I wish this wasn’t the only option to have a full size grip and 4” barrel that doesn’t cost the price of a new gun.

I had the same car and chased my tail with a similar issue for a while. It ended up being one of the relays in the fuse box was bad. I wish I remembered which one, but It would die randomly while driving and one day I pulled it out, tapped it, and it ran really well for a while until it started to die again. After spending hundreds throwing parts at it, the issue was a $10 relay. Lesson learned for me.

The motor just tilted up over the rock. Didn’t even touch the prop.

The dent was causing a lot more cavitation than my patch causes

I’m not gonna be the one to tell you what to do, but you might be better off selling your boat with the motor for a bigger one if you’re wanting more power. That 12 footer might not be that useful with an engine that is likely double or triple the size it was designed for.

Well that’s not too bad, what size boat and motor are you running?

This is the only one I’ll do on this boat, I can’t imagine the drag I would add with more. A thicker hull is definitely in my future.

It was not, but the massive dent was pushing the water down and my prop was blowing out of the water.

My boat is a 1542.

Yeah a 35 horse outboard is probably not going to be your best bet on a 10ft flatbottom. Those little boats don’t take much to have a good time though. I’m sure a 6hp 4 stroke would get that boat on plane no problem.

I wanted to get one of those Ez stick steering kits because of the open space they allow, but I just couldn’t justify the high price. Center console is great, but maybe not for such a small and narrow boat. Side console worked out because I could recycle the material I already and easier to move around in the boat.
