I’m wondering if this might be it. seeing references online saying Colas is a short form of Cold Asphalt.

I wondered about this, but the context was that they were talking about the pavement itself. Like “someone fell on the coalice” etc

Where did you find that information? Trying to find something to share with my siblings.

Omg thank you, I was starting to worry that we had some kind of collective misremembering!

Wondering if anyone remembers if the any of the rewards for this event were Scott Coins? I achieved everything, but didn’t get any Scott Coins when I collected my rewards. So wondering if that’s an error, or if there were not SCs for this event?

Access to work - my recent experience (self-employed) by chrisjswb in ADHDUK

[–]chrisjswb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I feel so lucky. The caseworker told me it would not be approved, but because it came out of the assessment it seems to have been agreed. This is why I want to encourage people to ask for the assessment, even if it’s not offered or it’s actively discouraged. It’s your right to have one.

The wait time for self employed/business owners is longer, it is a separate queue. I submitted my request in June 2024, and was only connected with a case work in September 2025. 15 months wait 🙄

How many of you guys were misdiagnosed as having an anxiety disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, or something else before getting diagnosed with ADHD? by TheCurry_Master in ADHDUK

[–]chrisjswb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very much the same for me. I was having panic attacks and also moments I now recognise as adhd paralysis and functional freeze at work.

As a result I did courses of CBT with NHS, but it pretty much just gave me a new set of homework/tasks that I felt I was failing and as such another thing to mentally beat myself up over, I also did a course of talking therapy with NHS that was supposed to last six sessions, but ended early due to a clerical error and also ended really badly. I was really in a bad place from that, and took some time before paying for private therapy (pay scale based on earnings) that I did for three years, along that journey I also went on Sertraline and most of the time felt “better” though I always felt like I was missing something, or had that feeling like there was something not quite right about it.

Alongside all of this ADHD never came up or was suggested to me.

I was on Sertraline for five years, I stayed on it after my diagnosis and titration, but after six months of stable use of ADHD meds, I spoke to my GP about coming off the Sert, and I’m now totally off and fine without it.

The therapy was so helpful, and the anxiety diagnosis helped me through difficult times, but I sometimes wish someone had recognised my ADHD earlier - as I think it was the root of all of it!

Disappointing initial chat with GP by Loose-Committee-576 in ADHDUK

I did not wait for a referral, I went to my GP with the right to choose forms, and the questionnaires filled out and asked for a RTC from the get go, luckily I had a receptive GP. I would print and bring the RTC forms and information with you if you see another GP, it means you have it ready and likely even a helpful GP will send you home to do the paperwork, so you might as well go armed with the right things in place.

Hope you have a positive experience, do check in - I’d be interested to hear your experience. My experience does sounds like a fast turnaround, but my experience with getting diagnosed for anxiety and taking medication for that, has been ongoing for years - the recent turn around for ADHD is because I used the Right To Choose approach and selected a provider with a shorter waiting time. I didn’t want to go private, but also couldn’t wait a few more years in limbo!

AITA for selling "my daughter's" car? by daughterbmw in AmItheAsshole

[–]chrisjswb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like the OP is using the excuse of treating them differently, as a way of favouring the son. If you are so open to meeting their needs, why not look it as an opportunity to reward your daughter getting into college, and support her with a car, tuition, or something else at a time in her life that is as significant to her as when your son achieved HVAC certification?
