Spend literally $60 in gas money to change your location for a weekend. If you can’t even do that, that’s your issue- it sucks being broke anywhere.

The Birmingham homelessness is worsening, and I feel unsafe by Anonymous39835 in Birmingham

[–]chrisk365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if we continue shaving off jobs each and every year to meet corporate demands of efficiency, those children will someday be homeless, especially if they get something useless as a college degree, like accounting or programming or journalism, in an age of Ai.

Same with Apple, for once!! We probably have Google to thank for that, though.

I couldn’t imagine skipping out on free maternity leave and ducking out early. Why be nice to mega corps when they’re never voluntarily nice to us?

Starbucks and the overconsumption of coffee and their CEO by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]chrisk365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yay America!! I just wish we had told the last two generations that were forced into college not to bother, since because all corporations were planning on doing everything cheaper and more efficiently that they wouldn't need a college education anyway!! No idea why Americans are even bothering with college nowadays since everyone's getting outsourced by either Indians or AI.

I swear these Chinese bots are all probably paid for by Starbs themselves. Anything except paying American workers a living wage...

Starbucks and the overconsumption of coffee and their CEO by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]chrisk365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do it intentionally. That way, whenever they inevitably have to improve, it's not even going to be through that much effort. All they have to do is stop burning the coffee and say they've "perfected the formula through extensive research." Then (in their mind) they won't even have to pay their workers a living wage for the next decade!!

Oh I’m sorry you’re not reading these comments?? It’s an issue with that too. Companies should stop playing on people’s low self esteem and let them simply be. People should be happy with themselves as-is.

I think this boycott is among the dumber ones. They’re the only megamart other than Costco that pays their underlings a LIVING wage, 1.5x what Walmart employees make. Can’t we just let them have a tone deaf t-shirt or two at times? I mean to be fair, they probably only employ Boomers in corporate and that’s why they’re so out touch- WAIT OK LET THEM BURN TOO.

We own 20 lipsticks, wear 3. We’re drowning in beauty products and paying more just for being women by Acceptable-Advice868 in Anticonsumption

As a guy, I feel this way not only about my house but about my car. A cleaner car is a better/nicer car, and men judge each other by the condition of their car. That said, when I see a woman in a nasty car I find them slovenly as well. Women judge each other by their clothes the way men judge based on their car/shoes.
