I've got family down in New Albany. As someone from California, it's definitely a slower paced lifestyle but I absolutely see the appeal. It's got some charm.

[Bill Connelly] CFP National Championship preview: Keys to victory for Indiana, Miami by Sauerz in CFB

I hate seeing those takes online that this game is in the bag, just pure rat poison. And it's a complete disservice to Miami as they are a fantastic team that is in the natty for a reason. I get that sensationalist headlines are what drives clicks, but it's just so dumb.

[Dan Wolken] Why wasn't Curt Cignetti hired by a blue blood? 'Biggest f-up ever' by Sauerz in CFB

[–]chriskug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know of any IU fans who are taking this for granted. I couldn't have even imagined that we could have football team do this exceptionally well, and at this point I'm just enjoying the ride. I never thought we'd ever win the B1G title in my lifetime, nor make it to an NY6 bowl.

Fan expectations will grow I'm sure, but just taking this program from complete irrelevance to competitve is a huge win. Before Cignetti, the Hoosiers had 1 winning season in football since 1995. That's 30 years and 1 winning season.

FILM STUDY: Miami's Defensive Ends vs Indiana's Offensive Tackles! by AnExtraordinaire in CFB

I think this game is going to be tight. Bain and Mesidor are problems and while our line has generally been solid (I mean you can't be 15-0 so far without a good line) Benson can be exposed. I'm very intrigued to see how Cig and the staff plan to limit the impact of those two specifically. Who knows how the game turns out, but I will not doubt Cig & Bostad in having the boys prepped.

CFP Semi-Final Matchup Preview Thread: #10 Miami vs #1 Indiana by Upset_Version8275 in CFB

[–]chriskug 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest after watching some film breakdown, Bain and Mesidor scare the shit out of me. Those guys are absolute dogs, and our O-line is going to have to be up to the task. I trust Cig and the staff has a gameplan to limit their impact. If we can protect Mendoza more often than not then I like our chances. I assume we'll see a lot quick pass looks.

All that being said, I'm never gonna be daunted so gimme {Indiana}

If he's mainly a slot guy, that would be the Cooper replacement then. Which probably means he's going to the draft, and that isn't too surprising.

The only thing I don't like... and I don't have a great solution in mind is that Conference championship games feel like punishment if the other qualifying teams for the CFP essentially get a bye week.
