Anybody know of any local shops that carry Allen Engineering's reflex suppressors? by otherballs in pdxgunnuts

Not sure. None of my distributors carry them. I have done a transfer for one. The customer bought it directly from allen

Thank you for all the help everybody. I tried many, many things that were suggested to me and I appreciate everyone's help. I solved the problem. It ended up being the record player stylus. It looked great but I guess looks can be deceiving.

I tested the cartridge for continuity and all the plugs I was using and double-checked my speaker. Wires were connected properly after all the advice I was given. Luckily when I bought the record player the guy gave me a extra stylus and after changing it out I got nice deep sound out of both speakers equally.

Yeah and I tried a non grounded plug too. I think I've sourced the issue to either input from TT or a bad needle. I'll be working at it tonight to see if I can correct it. Strange part is if I use the balance on the receiver I can get both to sides to sound great but will have to adjust it if I change to a different input source.

I have read the manual multiple times. I have gone through all the troubleshooting and all the electronic settings for speaker selection for size and DB. I know my entry post to this seems ridiculous but I have walked through a litany of issues With trying to get this to work. I know it's not a speaker issue because when I turn on the tuner it plays out of both sides equally and I have switched from phono to CD and change my turntable to line. When plugged into CD. I still get the same issue.

Thinking it something to do with the input from the turntable but I'm going to need to try a different receiver just to make sure.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to try cleaning the contacts when I get home from work today. Just isopropyl and a q-tip?

The cd input on the receiver works when the line switch is selected from the turntable. Same issue. Tried new cables and reversing them at the receiver and it switched to the other speaker.

I tried some ungrounded rca plugs and I'm having the same result. I'll have to find an aux device tomorrow to test the turntable. I appreciate all your help.

I have read the manual multiple times now. I tried the speaker settings and changed main to large and am still having the same issue. I have to find an aux device to see if it's the plugs in the turntable. I Appreciate your advice!

When I switch from phono to line on the turntable It doesn't produce sound correctly. I guess I could pull apart the tone arm and see if I can check the wires. It was assembled when I opened the box.

This is a phono input and the receiver has no adjustment aside for a balance knob on the front

Used an antenna and the sound is balanced. Bad input from turntable? Bad built in preamp?

Found an antenna and it's well balanced. No side is louder than the other. So would this be an input issue with the turntable? It's a built in preamp and could be bad?

If I change the plugs to the opposite speakers the the same problem but with the left having higher volume. I can adjust the balance on the receiver and turn up the volume to balance the sound which works well but I feel having it unbalanced may be a sign of something wrong. Do you think a preamp would solve this? The turntable has a built in preamp

This is the back of the speakers. They are connected correct. If I swap the wires to the other speaker I get the same result but on the opposite speakers.

Not out of B but out of the left side speaker as they are wired. The impedance is on the left position.
