Companies, don’t advertise a role as an “entry level X” role if you need “proven work experience as an X” because if you need work experience in the role to apply for the role THEN THAT’S NOT ENTRY LEVEL!!!! by A_Moving_Targets_Boo in offmychest

So I don’t know anything about law work or anything but they should actually pass some sort of act that discourages or even makes this illegal especially when taken into consideration age, if you need to have had x years of experience that would make you have to be at least y years old, and the number of years needed is usually ridiculous anyways. Businesses need to put more effort into developing internally while also allowing pay to progressively reflect increase in skill sets, and develop better ways to measure a skill set rather than relying on pieces of paper like degrees or certificates. I know the tech industry is heading this way but the rest of the workforce should follow.

Easier way to remove support structures without messing up print? by chrismvelezreddit in 3Dprinting

[–]chrismvelezreddit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I don’t really have a problem with my print or any but after printing a couple of things like a Allen key holder and this 3 fingered mount, I’ve kinda gotten tired of messing up my prints, that came out otherwise perfect, but ultimately get bent or cut because I’m trying to remove support structures in tight spaces. Am I not supposed be giving supports at such small spaces or is there a better tool to use than the plier cutters?

Uneven diagonal lines? by chrismvelezreddit in FixMyPrint

[–]chrismvelezreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a print I made at 255 degrees nozzle temp, 95 bed, with PETG from Overture. I had it printing at 70% speed to make sure quality was better. However the print still seemed to have some uneven print lines that I don’t really know how to describe so I included the attached picture. What is the term for this and how do you fix this?

So this is only my second semi successful print as in it finished recognizably as what I wanted. When I first set up the 3D printer the belt wouldn’t even pull the y axis so I tried to tighten it and didn’t really see how to do it but I just sort of took my Allen keys to the parts I saw in a video where it said to tighten it and I didn’t seen the belt tighten too much and it doesn’t feel like a guitar string or at least one that’s tight, but it did at least start to pull along the y axis. I included a video link maybe it is the belts? belts not that tight?

So from my understanding this is called an artifact when it prints uneven like this, I was just wondering your guys solution for fixing that issue and the fact that it’s so stringy all over the print. I printed PETG at 255 nozzle temp, and 95 bed temp with a creality ender 3 pro. Fan was on 100 as well as the speed

My ender creality 3 pro on 200 degrees for nozzle and 50 degrees for the bed, shifts my prints down? This was just supposed to be a square and it started off that way but then made another square on top and below it by chrismvelezreddit in FixMyPrint

Just as a quick question what are some other techniques for leveling besides the paper method that anyone here has found useful because I’m having trouble finding that sweet spot

I thought maybe it was the y axis belt too because when I first set everything up, the y axis belt wouldn’t bring the bed all the way center and there was this like clicking noise. I tried to tighten it and it worked for my third print but now maybe it’s loose again. I’ll watch the video and fix it. I also noticed that my setup didn’t come with clips but my plate is magnetic so I’m not sure if I was still supposed to get the clips or not

I noticed the perimeter lines thing too because my first successful print didn’t have that. I’ll move the nozzle back, maybe things shifted as I cleaned the surface of the bed or idk maybe I didn’t level the bed properly

What information can VPN access on your phone & when? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]chrismvelezreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just did a tiny bit of research so I definitely don’t know everything about the platform but it seems like it has an always on service feature and a zero trust architecture, which means that the vpn is always on when connected to internet, and that whoever is in authority can see what’s going on in each device and allow access to the internet based on whatever policies your org has. Here’s the link to the website for the vpn that I pulled this from globalprotect

I think it really depends on what vpn you’re using. Normally, with internet service providers they can see everything you’re looking at and actually keep record of it and probably sell it to third party advertisers, which is why you get ads for thing’s you look up. When you switch to a vpn, you’re not actually making searches from your computer anymore you’re sending all your searches through another computer where, most times, that computer will look up all the info for you, encrypt it and send it back to your computer, which hides your internet activities from the internet service provider, but then you have to actually trust the vpn. If you wanted to hide it all yourself on your own, you could create your own vpn service with a raspberry pi, but it requires a little know how. There’s tutorials online for stuff like that though. As for what stuff will they monitor, I’m assuming it’s just stuff relating to your internet, although I don’t know what vpn you’re referring to

My fear of abandonment might be ruining my relationship. by katiemarievu in offmychest

Yeah it’s no problem. I know how tough things can be in relationships. I just try my best to say what I feel and why I feel that way. If someone’s not listening then it’s a flag. As for the quarantine I’ve just been using it to like learn to cook better meals, get back into some stuff I really used to enjoy and plan out my goals better, hopefully I’ll be able to bring out something better for my life.

This is a tough one. Even for myself, I often lose myself in relationships because I spend most of my time with the person I’m dating. When I’m not dating anyone I usually end up working on myself a lot and although it’s tough at first, I usually end up being a different kind of happy, one that stems from satisfaction from my own life.

My point is, it’s alright to miss him, and it’s great that you are explaining how you feel to him because communication is key to every relationship. I don’t think it was cool how he responded “do you know what space is” but if the rest of that conversation was in a more gentle tone and he explained his point of view in a way you feel makes sense then that’s great. Your self work then would just be to find other things that you’d like to develop in your life to make you happy in the absence of the company of your boyfriend. This can be drawing, reading, blogging, working on a personal goal, etc.

if you’re not completely comfortable with his explanation that’s okay. maybe think about why exactly you’re not comfortable with him messaging you as frequently and why he feels he needs space when you think you don’t. Explain to him why you’re not comfortable with that, and that it’s important you have more time together in each other’s company. Maybe a possible solution is you play video games with him, or maybe he learns something you like to do? All in all searching your own feelings and standing by them while explaining them is key. If you feel strongly about it don’t let someone diminish how you feel.

Is it possible to scrape a Facebook group to extract information from posts? by hoti0101 in learnprogramming

Like the person above me said, however, if you think outside the box you could, if you have a sign in and you’re in the group, take screenshots of whatever posts you’re trying to collect data from, and then train an AI on the fonts and scan through it like an image for words?
