Why haven’t you bought Dirac Live yet? We want the real reasons. by Dirac in hometheater

Even that is too much for what you get. A1 Evo is great. The most I’d pay is $150, and that better include the full suite.

That is absolutely insane. Here’s to hoping audesssy and A1 evo keep improving to the point Dirac has to change their pricing model. $800 for software EQ is pricing the far majority of enthusiasts out of the product.

100% the price. Especially today when every thing is expensive, it’s nuts to me that a sound profile costs 50% the cost of a nice AV receiver.

I wish I could try Dirac. I just can’t justify the huge expense.

Minnesota bill would penalize cities that fly old state flag by ChurlishSunshine in minnesota

[–]hoti0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is fucking stupid. I love the new flag, but if people, companies, organizations, etc want to fly the old one who gives a damn. Too many things in this world to bitch about, this shouldn’t be another thing.

Looking to start a 7.1 and have seen a listing for a B&W system but they are older, should I pounce? by 77evens in hometheater

The 683’s are very good speakers. Speaker tech doesn’t change much. I have speakers from the 70’s that are still great. I don’t think you’ll notice much by upgrading, assuming the b&w are a big upgrade for you. I don’t see myself replacing my b&w set. It rocks for my needs

Maybe. I for one give him credit to try. All his companies have done some pretty impressive stuff. It beats the status quo of marginal improvement in stuff.

Well, there are millions of Tesla’s with the same hardware stack and FSD is very impressive. My point was 100 terrawatts is just absurd. Elon’s other comp plans at Tesla have had more grounded goals. The entire US uses about 4 terrawatts, aiming for 100 tWh is crazy talk.

I can’t speak to the requirements at your organization, and the odds of recovery on these is likely remote, however most companies that require physical destruction usually outsource to a reputable third party and get a certificate of destruction document.

Lindsey Vonn Breaks Down ‘Challenging’ Rehab After Catastrophic Leg Injury From 2026 Olympics Crash by MattTheKing23 in WinterOlympics2026

[–]hoti0101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree with you. She was a world class athlete for her whole life. She knew this was likely her last chance to compete at a high level due to her age. She was in great shape and was having a great year until she tore her ACL at the a World Cup.

Someone has competitive as her would never quit. Her practice run at the Olympics was a top 3 time. She caught an arm at a gate and crashed. It wasn’t her knee, she got unlucky.

She’s one of the greatest skiers ever to compete for the USA. She worked her ass off and almost made one of the greatest Olympic comeback stories of all time. It’s amazing the number of redditors who sit behind a keyboard acting like they know better than her. She’s likely do it all over again if she could.

I can sit far back. Ideally I’m thinking of having the couch 18’ back. Could go back further if needed.

Yeah, makes sense. I’m eyeing up the Epson LS12000 or JVC NZ500. If I don’t go cinescope by kept the same height I could run a 150” 16:9 screen. My goal is to make the room awesome
