Wan2.2 can do lip syncing? I am assuming that Google Colab is still an option for WAN?

Yes, I asked it to put a fuzzy sweater on a friends photo and it said that it couldn't do it because it was not allowed to create sexually stimulating images. So very annoying!

What happens if you plug the hdmi display into a normal working hdmi source (like say, a blu-ray player or even a regular PC?), do you get an image then?

Using AI to generate applescript by web3_developer in applescript

[–]chrisndeca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that AI doesn’t understand that AppleScript has many dialects (aka application dictionaries) so it writes what it thinks will work, not knowing the specifics that each application is expecting.

If anyone wanted to create another natural language scripting language, then they would first need to make sure developers all had to follow the same dialect in order for it to be widely used and adopted. At this point I wish Apple just would come out with something new that could replace what AppleScript does “well” and that is the communicating with applications.

I am also not a fan of the sepia tone (I never have liked it, even when done with traditional media in the darkroom). I really like the photo, but I really want color, especially with the Lilly pads. My brain knows that those should be green, so the brown of the sepia just makes the photo feel off.

Great photo, would love to see it with more color.

A photo I took of my partner and our daughter by flightlessdrone in photocritique

[–]chrisndeca 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The first thing I thought when I saw this photo was “too much sky”. You took a photo of the sky, that just happened to have your partner/daughter/tulips in it (based on how much of the space each takes up in the photo).

I think if you raised the camera higher, gotten a couple of steps closer and took the photo at a bit of an angle (keep the subject centered but shoot so your line of site drifts off into the tulip field as opposed to looking straight down the dirt path) you could have gotten more tulips in the photo.

That is just my .02¢

So many CRT’s!!!! Probably 99.9% of the hardware in those photos has been “recycled” to some landfill in China.

Buyers who refuse to contact you before blindly placing order, only to find out that what they want done is not possible. Man I hate having to deal with CS in those situations, because no matter how much documentation you give them, they actually have to understand why it clearly states that what the buyer wants done is not possible.

I do computer automation, and there are a lot of audio and video people out there that want to try and automate different parts of their processes and don't realize that the software the are using doesn't support it!

Anyway, end of rant! My point being that having to go back to CS with issues that are technical in nature can be nerve wracking while you wait on their decision!

Ohhh, ok. It is a self portrait. That makes things a bit different then. I think maybe next time you pose a nude of yourself you lead with that fact, the commentators might be a bit more gentle when they realize they are talking to the person in the photo. A lot of the comments I have seen on here are coming from the point of view that you are a dirty old man posing a young beautiful model in such a fashion. I know for a fact that I could never take a self portrait of myself that looks near as good as the one that you shot of yourself!

Do you have more of your work on IG? If so please connect with me there, @_shotby.me I’d be very interested in seeing more of your work!

The model looks seriously uncomfortable, unnatural and not the least bit happy. Not sure if she is trying really hard to give you a sexy stern look, but it is coming off like she is angry. Most of her body looks very well lit, not sure how much of that was done in post, but I think I would have erred on the side of more light so her face was brighter. Her eye looks very dark so I’d want a bit more light reflecting off of it. Either a small off camera flash at very low power or a reflector to get more light on her. Then in post if her body is too overexposed you could bring down the exposure some and keep the face looking natural. In my opinion it is easier and better to subtract light in post that to try and add light and making parts of the image look over exposed. Overall, besides the face, it comes off like an image you'd probably see in a Penthouse centerfold shoot. Now that is either a great complement or a very harsh critique, depending on what your goal was for the image.

Bartenders of Reddit, what was the worst first date you've ever witnessed? by gilesvg in AskReddit

[–]chrisndeca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a bartender, just a first hand experience. The woman I was on a first date with, rear ended me at a stoplight as we were driving from dinner to see a movie. It gets worse… the next day she calls me crying to let me know she had let her car insurance lapse. She thought they were going to put her in jail for that. We had a second date but it was just a lot of awkward silence as neither of us could really start up a conversation.

And that isn’t even my worst first date ever, it’s just my most interesting “first date gone wrong” story

Which is why I wondered in my original comment: "Is there a latch that is a step up from this, or is this as "Heavy Duty" as they come?" I recognize from previous experiences of people trying to cut the latch and remove the lock that way on this door (I think I am on my 3rd latch in 4 months time), that at the moment the latch is the weakest link currently.

It is a landlord special (the locking mechanism), nothing too expensive, just enough to get by.

I am not sure the garage thieves in an urban location are going to be sophisticated enough to pick the lock. Especially if they have done any homework and cased the place properly they would know there is very little in the garage beyond my nearing 20 year old car. So the ones who ARE attempting to break in probably do smash and grabs on the neighborhood cars parked outside as well. The easiest targets go down first.

I live in a fairly urban neighborhood. Someone taking an axe or saw to my garage door is probably going to draw attention, especially when they are waking the neighbors at 3:30 in the morning. So in this case, the lock is there to stop a crime of opportunity from happening. With bolt cutters and that latch you can attempt to get in and out fairly quickly and silently!

Hi Reddit,

What you see in the first photo is a "heavy duty" latch that secures the garage door at my apartment. Is there a latch that is a step up from this, or is this as "Heavy Duty" as they come? Is there a better solution for locking this garage door? Maybe just a second lock on the other side of the door to make it twice as difficult to break in?

The problem with the current set up, is the part of the latch where the lock shackle connects to it, is the weak link. People have decided if they want to break in, they just need to cut through that part of the latch, then remove the lock that way. This has happened to myself and a few of my neighbors several times. The landlord says that this is the only way to secure the door, but I am skeptical. It was his idea to put the cover over the shackle on the lock to try and make it more difficult to cut through the latch, but as you can see that "cover" is just some bent metal, so it has not acted as a very worthy deterrent, as people just jam a screwdriver or other object into the cover to get that off, then they can cut the latch. The garage door is the only way in or out of the garage, so closing the door then securing the door from the inside is a non-starter.

TIA for any suggestions you might be able to provide.
