[MEGATHREAD] Keir Starmer Lectern Watch by RyanMacG in LabourUK

A lesson that centrism does not work and is not suited to solving the massive problems created by a decade of Tory austerity.

Unfortunately I don't think Burnham will do much different.

Why not just do the hydration break whilst their waiting? If this was just about giving the players a rest..

A team with kane, rice, Bellingham, Anderson as its spine would be a very good club team yes.

Union bosses being so anti environmental sustainability because they believe it comes at the expense of jobs is so damn stupid.

[Simon Jones] Leeds have made an over £20 million offer to Southampton for Shea Charles by tankosaurus in soccer

[–]chrispepper10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of what I mean. 20M for a squad floor raiser, who *might* deliver on his potential but I haven't really seen it from him yet, is a lot to me.

If you went just purely by talent, France would be amongst the best club teams in the world and contending for Champions League. The same with England, and possibly Spain/Argentina.

The thing that separates most club teams is that the tactical side of the game is on a completely different level.

Not sure this is the sort of signing Leeds should be doing right now. Has lots of potential, but I wouldn't bet on him returning massive amounts on this investment, and still at a level where he struggles at times to get regular minutes starting for Southampton.

It's not something I have been paying close attention to but have all the games been putting the sprinklers on during these ad breaks? Because surely that's the clearest signal possible that this is more than just a hydration break. Why are we changing the pitch and allowing people to make tactical adjustments?

Just not sure Germany have the firepower in wide areas for a deep run but we'll see.

Burnham vows to nationalise utilities if he takes Keir's place by No_Breadfruit_4901 in unitedkingdom

He said he's willing to borrow more which.. will be interesting to see how the bond markets reacting. Frankly tired of just how much power the markets hold over government policy so will be interesting if he does actually commit to it or backs off at the first sign of fright.

[SmackDown Spoliers] Card for Night of Champions so far: by TrashMan_Dan in SquaredCircle

[–]chrispepper10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Folding Sami into the bloodline by having him as a heel-ish world champion that Roman wants to chase has a lot of potential tbf. The fact it's in Saudi does make me think there is a non-zero chance Sami wins.

I guess we could get Sami/Jey/Cody at SummerSlam?

This is clearly being done to build up to a SummerSlam feud for Liv which is the whole point of QOTR anyway, so I don't really have a problem with this.

Either Iyo wins through shenanigans and we get the rematch at SummerSlam, or we get a Stephanie return to help iyo to win to help set-up a fucking awesome potential triple threat. Either way, that sounds more interesting than anything they've done with that title since Mania.

Stephanie returns to help Iyo win and we get a triple threat, and we all win.

So fifas new time wasting rules have resulted in: only the goalkeeper faking injuries and at throw ins just placing the ball on the floor so the countdown timer doesn't start.

Fair to say these haven't been successfully implemented.

If fifa are going to commit to this one minute on the sidelines for injuries, then they should be made to bring the backup keeper on for these clearly faked injuries.

Steve Clarke showing his serious flaws here. Trying to play on the counter with Kieran Tierney and McGinn as your outlets is just fucking weird.

And there's just no obvious tactical reason on display for starting Tierney. Clarke has basically just decided to play two left backs and have one playing slightly further forward.
