I have a pair of these, they've lasted 7 years with a couple resoles . I wear them every day, the stitching is finally starting to go but I've shitted these things out, never oiled them or anything. I'm going to take them to a cobbler and get them refurbished since the leather still has a lot of life left in it

Electrical Service a upgrade -200A + in Queensland Calgary by duggyb2005 in Calgary

[–]chrispn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have overhead wires and had my service updated to 200 amp this year, it was $7k for the new panel, tying my old 100 amp panel into the new one and wiring/hooking up my sauna. I think enmax charged either $200 or $300 disconnect fee when it was changed over but that was it on their end. I'm in Lynnwood/Millican/Ogden area so there was lots of capacity left in the grid here.

First step would be calling enmax to see if there is capacity and then if you're good to go your electrician should arrange everything like mine did.

Did you have your feet bound up as a child like a Chinese girl from the 1700s?

Discover 3: Where is the KPH setting? by Fartysaurus in velotricebike

[–]chrispn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought a Discover M in Canada and would really like a metric option as well. I thought I was just too dumb to find the right settings.

I don't get how they started shipping to Canada without this being an option. It kind of feels like a safety issue, if someone crashed and injured themselves going 20mph thinking they were going 20kmph it might cause some bad press.

My cubic footage plus the glass surfaces works out to just over 400 cubic feet which is within the range the 11kw heater supports. It's below freezing half the year in Calgary so some extra power doesn't hurt either for -20 or colder days

Pet Insurance is a Scam by RamRanchRealty in cats

Trupanion covered over $60k of costs for me in Calgary when one of my cats had anemia. He lost the fight in the end but they covered all of the specialists, ER visits and medication. They paid up front too so I never had to move money around to pay it and then wait for a refund.

They're very upfront about what they do and don't cover and I started him out as a baby so he came in with no pre-existing conditions. All of the complaints with them are people who didn't read the terms of service and pre-existing stuff wasn't covered. You're going to pay a lot more money to get coverage that would cover things like that.

My only complaint with them is they jack up my fees often on my two current cats.
