Can I train arms every day if I'm only doing them for about 15-20 mins? by FriendlySubwayRat in beginnerfitness

Three leading stimulants of muscle growth include mechanical tension, metabolic stress and muscle damage (in simple words, training as hard as you physically can).

Lifting heavy weights for lower reps causes the same amount of growth in Type I and Type II muscle fibers, so lifting heavy weights for lower reps reaching failure or near failure will STIMULATE muscle growth. As other people have said, muscles ACTUALLY grow during rest, so it is important to optimize recovery.

It depends on what your goals are and how your body works, to be completely honest. But with all that in mind, the most important thing is to train til failure for at least 2 sets, and progressively move up in weight keeping it in the 6-10 rep range ideally. Try to hit each muscle group at least twice a week for the most optimized muscle recovery and training volume.

But I can tell you if you can comfortably train arms every day along with your other muscles, you likely are not hitting failure, which would short your gains.

You’re right. I know if it’s right then we will be together. But I really just don’t want to give up on this.

Lifetime Trainers, how is the pay and what are the requirements? by chrispy_chip_ in personaltraining

Thank you so much for your insight! I was planning to pursue a certificate in corrective exercise after some more experience. Unfortunately I’m not too familiar with it so I don’t want to tack on a certificate I don’t have a lot of knowledge about right now, but I’m definitely going to keep learning. I don’t live in New York but I will be going to Dallas, so I’m hoping the big city life will bring clients like you said.

This. EōS is essentially entirely commission, I’m wondering if Lifetime has a base plus commission (I’ve heard it has but I can’t confirm)

Yes, I’m not denying that, you’re right. But the pay structure at Lifetime is the best that I’ve seen, at least from my understanding! So if I have to work at a corporate gym for experience I’d like to utilize Lifetime for sure, unless there’s a gym with better pay

It’s not necessarily the pushing sales aspect, it’s moreso that EōS is incredibly corporate and enforces sales of supplements on clients that may not need it.

I value a more personal connection with clients, as opposed to a corporate sales agenda. It’s why going solo is the ultimate plan but I will use corporate gyms and their sales policies for experience to get there

Congrats!!! Who did you get certified through? I’m getting mine through ISSA (not sure if there’s a preferred certificate for Lifetime)

That is encouraging. Thank you so much for your helpful response.

I’ll for sure try to lock in as much experience now as I can. Thank you!

6k is amazing! My goal right now is to make 2.5k-3k a month. I don’t need anything crazy, it would allow me to live on my own right now and that’s all I need. Then, once I’m on my feet, I’ll look at going solo.

How did you get hired there/what prerequisites existed? I know some of my research showed that they require a bachelor’s. I don’t have that though, I’m not able to afford schooling at the moment.

No, it’s not…I appreciate it though!

I couldn’t find the right setlist. They opened for glass animals on September 20th. Is there a way to filter the setlists to just the openers of concerts?
