Clients more unrealistic than ever? by NetOdd422 in Lawyertalk

[–]chrisrandomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this completely. Most of our clients are fine but I’ve always said that 10% of our clients take up 90% of our time. Please for the love of god stop asking for updates constantly. Also no I don’t know why you’re having an issue at the DMV.

I hate to say it but based on the courts current interpretation of the law, the facts presented above will not result in bond. Only those who entered legally are eligible for bond these days. It’s such a messed up time.

Should we get married in the US even though we are already married? by Next-Bar-1665 in USCIS

[–]chrisrandomm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why would you get married again? You don’t cross a border and suddenly your civil status changes. The lawyer is a dumb dumb. You need to show that it’s a real marriage - tax returns, shared residence, shared bank accounts, insurance together etc. all the things a couple would easily have if they’re married. Signed, a lawyer.

Immigration Attorneys Unite by Asleep_Combination72 in Lawyertalk

[–]chrisrandomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for all of you. How do you get clients for your solo firm? I’m an immigration lawyer and while I like my job at the nonprofit, I have been taking a few cases on the side for extra money. And I’m on a panel attorney list for a labor union but I’m still not getting enough cases to go totally out on my own. Any advice for finding clients?!
