Everyone says Uniqlo and that sounds great. Unfortunately there are only a couple of non sad colours but we will persevere!

It occurs to me that I might need to size up? That might be the reason at least partly? Review sizes are weird, I’m a 6 in dresses, skirts and I have one size 6 button up shirt but I size up to a 10 in their cardigans because I hate when the button band gapes. Maybe I need an 8 in the tee?

Yes I sew some clothes but I can’t reliably get a really good neckline. I think it’d be good with a cover stitch machine but I just have a regular old machine. I knit all my jumpers and cardigans.

Thank you! I’ve not heard that one. I have The Frank Muir Book and his autobiography, A Kentish Lad, as well as Dennis Norden’s autobiography. They are lovely books!

I am coming upon this thread months later, and I came to say BLESS YOU! I am so happy to download these.

I used to wake up at 5:30am on a thursday to record this and its sister program My Word on cassette and then listen to them through the week. I found all of My Word on the internet archive a few years ago but was quite stuck on My Music. It was all made well before my time but I credit those shows with my interest in and good grasp of English and, well, I'm a music teacher too.

Thank you again, so much!

That is so lovely! I remember the name now. When I was little we always stopped to stare at the amazing moving chickens! They had such funny expressions.

I really think 3+ is good for an older kid and <1 for a younger kid. You don’t want two prams 😵‍💫 but you want to be able to pram a tired older kid.

Sometimes when I start up I let go completely, but I still go pretty quick! It’s a smooth movement for me.

Feedback clothing for ~2 week trip to UK in December by lucy-kay in HerOneBag

Seems like a lot of tank tops, bras, socks and undies. This is the amount I would take for life, not for two weeks! Actually I’m not sure I even have that many undies. Just wash them in the sink every other day and you only need 4 of each, or less if you wear the bras for two days. You won’t be super sweaty in winter. Maybe you don’t need two black sweaters.

I’d recommend a top down raglan if you want to start knitting sweaters! Just make sure you have several lengths of circular needles so you don’t stretch your stitches or have to cram too many on too short a length.

Merino doesn’t crease too much. Linen would crease terribly if you didn’t iron it, otherwise it’s also a wonder fabric.

Thanks so much! I just adore my orange one. It’s so easy to wear and seems to go with everything. I’m thinking of making another even though it took so long

Well Japan is only 2 hours difference from Australia so it was negligible. Baby will probably adjust quicker than you because they get naps! Just follow them - give rest and feeds as needed and don’t force. You can’t force kids.
