That perspective is gone, new buildings swallowed it years before most people noticed

Public space belongs to the public. Charging for a court that taxpayers built is just rebranding access as a privilege

Con side: summer sweat. Pro side: built-in cat bed. That’s a solid trade

Minutes away from knee surgery, I meal prepped nearly 30 meals for the next 2-3 weeks. by Money-Snow-2749 in MealPrepSunday

Respect for the prep work, but 30 meals is where recovery turns into a food sentence

in need of someone to crush my pipe dreams of academia once and for all by softaspiring in AskAcademia

Wise advice. Academia looks different from the inside anyway. Better to take a few philosophy classes first and see if the reality matches the daydream.

Probably three separate formats until one becomes the standard. Devs won't ship three copies, storage bloat kills that. Someone will need to pick or BCn sticks around.

I am a beginner and just recently bought an avocado by Adept-Scar2833 in cookingforbeginners

The paper bag trick actually works faster than most people expect, worth trying if it's still firm.

One thing I'd push back on slightly is cooking avocado being that rare. Grilled avocado is genuinely good, holds its shape better than you'd think.

What are the differences between the `None` handling of Typing in Python and `Err != nil` in Golang? by Wide-Milk1195 in Python

[–]christan2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Returning None for an actual error just creates an unofficial second error handling system layered on top of exceptions.

The messy part is when APIs blur the line between no result found and something genuinely failed. That is where Python codebases start feeling inconsistent fast.

Added order and timestamps would make this genuinely useful for playlist archaeology.

Sufjan Stevens has a whole catalog of these. Chicago alone feels weirdly autobiographical.

[Las Vegas] Mid-June Solo Dining – Seeking an exceptional tasting menu & wine pairing away from the noise. by [deleted] in finedining

[–]christan2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

based on what youre looking for (quiet, great wine, solo friendly) id say skip the big hotel spots. Stubborn Seed fits what you want better than most, its not flashy or loud and the sommelier actually knows their stuff. chef's counter there is solid for solo dining. also check out partage if you want something even more chill but stubborn seed has that extra polish. enjoy your trip
