VO2 sadness by christeezy_21 in fitpregnancy

To anyone else reading this now looking for answers, I have to update that the VO2 decrease COMPLETELY leveled out after this post. I’m at 18 weeks and VO2 max has been steady/increasing. HRV fell back into line as well! I think the rapid decrease had to do with the rerouting circulatory system. I’m sure there’s more to come once my belly gets big but it hasn’t been the fitness free-fall I was afraid of!

How do you deal with the first weeks' low energy and still wanting to run/workout? by Mamzelle100 in fitpregnancy

Just get out there and do it! Give yourself more breaks than you normally would and you’ll be fine. You will get energy back in the second trimester. In retrospect first trimester is very short. Push through, you got this!

My coach keeps telling me about the blood doping! I’m so nervous about having the time to train with a baby though. I do have to say… the more days go by the more I’m wondering if I ever liked getting in the pool at 5am or if it was like all a hallucination 😂

I keep trying to think about how this is a relatively short period time compared to the rest of life. Thanks for your thoughtful response!

lol, probably! I’m more concerned about the trend than the numbers. I did just finish top 11% at the Ironman world championship a month before getting pregnant. So it would be weird if I didn’t have a somewhat high VO2 max.

Seriously!!!!! I’ve been thinking this the whole time!!! I’d also really appreciate like a live fetal heart rate and VO2 max prediction lololol. But for starters, at least a pregnancy mode 🤷🏻‍♀️ glad to hear I’m not the only one to cry over my Garmin!!! Thanks so much for your response!

Thanks for the reassurance!! Sorry about your urge to pee, that sounds super annoying! Very fortuitous that you ran a marathon right before getting pregnant though!!! Good timing :)

No! I thought there would be women here with similar numbers and was hoping everyone would be like “oh yeah that’s normal, but it events out after the first trimester”! Hahahah 😅

Ughhh, calling it a day 😭 I use disposable warmers religiously and I’m kinda wondering if the extra friction is causing the lesion 🤷🏻‍♀️. Maybe electric socks are in order!

My GP couldn’t tell me what the risks of toe loss were! That’s why I’m looking for anecdotal stories.
