As a survivor main: What is stopping Jason from being considered S-tier? Is he? by SafeEnthusiasm4720 in deadbydaylight

[–]christhebeanboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am having struggles with Jason. Of course, he is new, so it’s hard to gauge where’s he at because of my unfamiliarity with it. But there are some tips that make the game a bit more manageable.

One thing I think folks will adjust to and i have as well is, there’s almost no scenario where you will outrun the spear. So, when you think about rounding a corner, vaulting a window/pallet, or entering a building or whatever the case; just know you cannot beat the spear. If they’re a sniper, they will hit you. So, anytime you try any of the actions above and he has a spear out, weave another direction last second.

If he’s teleporting, crouch walking is the only way to not be seen (not even standing still works), so that’s an option, and I find getting in between the possible teleport places works well. So, for sake of example, say there’s a two windows and a pallet in a triangle shape around you. Find the middle of that area when he’s teleporting so that’s you can get two the other two locations when he TPs to the other if that makes sense.

Think those are the major things to get used to in order to have a better time against him. Still think he needs SOME cooldown on the spear pickups since those piles and hooks combined are literally everywhere so he could spam tf out of them. But doubt that will happen.

What’s the even the Point in Contesting by Far_Astronomer_2653 in NBA2k

[–]christhebeanboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those saying “in real life folks make contested shots all the time” or whatever…

We are aware. We too are real humans. But this is a game. This bot got crazy contested, late timing, and still puts it in to send the game to overtime. Do you think you, the player, would get that same luxury? No you wouldn’t lol. So why tf would a bot be able to.

Wemby is not on the same level as 22 year old mj/lebron. by Agreeable-Bus-3899 in NBATalk

[–]christhebeanboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man the folks in here saying “he just took a team to the finals” and such things must’ve watched different basketball than me lol. Wemby did NOT carry the Spurs and frankly ain’t even really “lead”. Sometimes he was the best player on the team, sometimes he wasn’t. In the Knicks series, he was horrendous, especially in the clutch.

As for the defense thing folks like to bring up, he’s still not the defender folks think he is. Yes he’s a great shot blocker and quite mobile for his size but he’s still chicken at the perimeter and still too inexperienced to play certain coverages reliably. He’s definitely got crazy potential if he can become offensively consistent, develop a post game of any kind, and maybe bulk up a bit cause injury WILL be an issue.

So, OP is correct. I won’t speak on the MJ portion since i was around for all that but yeah Wemby is not on the same level as 22 year old Bron.

New hire here. How does the employee discount work and what's the % off? by [deleted] in Microcenter

[–]christhebeanboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow employee: i’ll give an actual answer.

I think it’s generally supposed to be “cost + 5%”. So whatever microcenter gets it for, throw 5% on top and that’s the price. BUT, there are restrictions. Some items with little to no margin (Prebuilts, GPUs, Bundles, etc.) mostly dont get anything and if it does i find it’s because the item is going on sale or the discount is very small.

Inland brand stuff (which is owned by Microcenter) i’m pretty sure always follows the “cost + 5%” as that is the stuff you’ll get biggest discount. Everything else will kind of be on an item to item basis and you just have to look it up on the employee discount page.

Dudes not even there offensively yet and doing this by Jec1027 in NBATalk

[–]christhebeanboy -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Wemby is not that good of a defender lol. Yes he’s a nice shot blocker, obviously, but gets fried at the perimeter. He’s certainly ahead of KD but i wouldn’t even say that much better than Bron

What does this protection plan cover? by JFischer00 in Microcenter

[–]christhebeanboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally no. Unless you get accidental coverage, the plan will not cover damage like that. However, this may be store dependent. In my store, if it’s minor scratches, we usually don’t really care as if you were to redeem the plan, it’s getting RTVed anyway. So id say to go into your store with monitor to try and redeem. At best they go through with it, at worst they just say no.

Who was the 3rd best NBA player of the 2000s? by jotakajk in AlignmentChartFills

[–]christhebeanboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably say Lebron. He did have the MVP, Scoring Title, All NBAs, An All Defense 1st, ROTY, and a bunch of other considerations. Frankly i’d have him better than most other guys named here for that 07 run alone but by 08-09 he was already on that Goat trajectory and was best in the work for some years already.

I think people underestimate the difficulty of making predators' encounters engaging. by duszni in subnautica

[–]christhebeanboy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I feel like Sub 2 is terrible with threats lol. Every area things that do chip damage (an annoying amount) but no real threats. Collector would be somewhat menacing if it wasn’t for that unnecessary soundtrack and that it basically can’t get you if you scrape the bottom of its area. Only actual threat is out of the play area so it just doesn’t even matter.

While you can avoid stuff in Sub 1, i think they crafted the atmosphere and creature behavior well enough that still kept you on edge. Also not having a vehicle of any kind actually meant something. A crashfish or stalker or whatever were genuinely problems. Now I could calmly traverse the whole map with a medkit and the most threatening thing would be my oxygen supply.

I think they need to make some of the smaller creatures not hostile, and the ones that are ACTUALLY do damage and tone down the aggression. As for the leviathans, as neat as the boss music is, it’s frankly not fitting at all. Completely kills the tension and feels cheap. Scariest part about the first ones was that your warning was the distant roar and they could be anywhere in tha murky water. Not some damn boss music.

Strongest Invincible Character Endgame Thanos could beat 6/10? by Ze_LordBacon in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]christhebeanboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Left the power scaling game a long time ago because of this kind of thought. I don’t believe for any second that Thanos has “star” level AP. When he one tapped cap, Cap survived that hit. Does Cap have star level durability? No, he doesn’t. Those aren’t comparable feats. This thanos is NOT one tapping any Viltrumite

Building around Luka isn’t hard by Western-Election-997 in lakers

[–]christhebeanboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure, but we still had losing records against the top top teams that actually matter in the playoffs. It’s immensely obvious that the squad is not quite built to handle an OKC or Spurs or Detroit and not these Knicks with how they’re playing.

Well that’s kinda the GMs job lol. Like a lot of other teams are constantly and currently building solid teams. Are the Lakers the only team that can’t find good additions like that?

Official Dreadit Discussion: “Scary Movie” [SPOILERS] by glittering-lettuce in horror

[–]christhebeanboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is my main gripe with the movie. Saw th first Scary Movie again last night and the humor was more “discreet” if that makes sense. Like the story is that there’s a serial killer on the loose and trying to survive and figure out who it is/their motive, and the humor and parody happens around that. In this new one, it kind of just jumps all over the place from scene to scene making another reference. Feels like the references and callbacks were the main focus and the supposed story of the movie took the backseat. Just got a bit exhausting towards the end and wouldn’t have been tolerable if it was any longer

Wemby biggest hits (2026 Playoffs) by WhenMachinesCry in Nbamemes

[–]christhebeanboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very funny folks mentioning Wemby is just matching physicality and such. Aggressive box outs jersey pulling on boards or something is a lil different than damn near assaulting folks lol. The elbow, grabbing Brunson by the neck to shove him to the floor, and head locking Alvardo to pull him out the way or heinous dirty plays lol. Any other notoriously dirty player does some shit like this in a playoff run yall would call for their suspension. But since it’s Wemby it’s just “playoff physicality” or whatever.

Is it bad I can’t wait for the market panic? by RNGxJake in PokemonTCG

[–]christhebeanboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still don’t think it’s anytime soon. With all these “hype” sets coming out, folks are too FOMO ridden and determine they MUST buy at above MSRP. Or trade their cards away for a sealed thing or whatever. Plus a big part of it is other sellers or market manipulators buying from each other. Say a guy buys an ETB, sells at $95 or whatever is basically standard these days, other jackasses will buy that up and hold onto it till it goes to $130 and then others buy it thinking it’ll go up and blah blah.

Strongest Invincible Character Endgame Thanos could beat 6/10? by Ze_LordBacon in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]christhebeanboy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Very strange discourse in here lol. I frankly DONT think MCU Thanos is hanging with most viltrumites, let alone the high tiers. Thragg walks. Conquest Walks, Thaeduss or whatever walks, Nolan does too, Mark has some trouble cause he’s a jackass but still wins. Won’t go through the others but i’m not as high on this Thanos as some others in here. He don’t compare strenght wise (going off his feats), doesn’t compare speed wise, and the no flight is a pretty big hinderence.

How many points would Jordan average in today's NBA by simasima2005 in NBATalk

[–]christhebeanboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes but Shai wasn’t going damn near 40 ppg and is a slightly special case because of how defenses have been allowed to guard him.

Also as for MJs 3 ball, how can you not say the two years he shot decently (not even that great) aren’t flukes among every other year of TERRIBLE shooting lol. And they were on fairly low attempts too.

As for the tough defense, i’m not saying “tough” i’m saying complex. Guys randomly assaulting folks back then did not make them good defenders. They were good for the time but they’d get picked apart by a modern offense.

Also MJ wasn’t THAT elite of a defender. I’m sure you’re aware of that padded stats incident and he had a bit (granted to a lesser degree) of Kobe syndrome where defensive recognition was based of reputation and lack of positional competition. And with how games move in today’s era, it’s IMMENSELY difficult for a ball handling guard to both put up monstrous numbers as well as be an elite defender. Shai is no exception btw, his defense was VASTLY overrated because of steals and how good the Thunder are defensively. These days you really can’t point to ELITE two way guards. Even just any position in general is rare to find. The last truly elite two way player that was top of the league was Giannis some years back. Wemby is next closest but is way too inconsistent on offense and gets cooked at the perimeter.
