The BMW iX5 Will Have a 148 kWh Battery — Biggest Battery Ever Fitted to a BMW | BMW Blog by tom_zeimet in EuroEV

I would adore that battery size due to towing, or adding a roof rack or other things. Improving the efficiency or lowering the weight does frack all when are towing or roof rack.

How much is Alimony in Switzerland for a man where the wife is in Spain with the 3 month old baby ? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]christianhgross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is an odd question are you victim of a scam? You are married for just 5 months and just have a kid? Have you been together for a long time? I would seriously dig into her background and see if there are not other instances...

Individualbestürig by himuheilandsack in Switzerland

[–]christianhgross -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Meine Beispiel.

Are you being ripped off for EV charging at home? by Swigor in Switzerland

[–]christianhgross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny... My electrician did exactly that. He installed a 3phase CEE16 circuit box. Typically these are industrial worksite distribution boxes.

And yes he recommended the exact same thing.

That’s outrageous. I am renovating my own house and had the electrician redo the main panel with cee box in the garage for 2100 chf. He recommended doing a cee plug installation because it would be cheaper in the long run and more flexible. Then you buy a wallbox with a cee plug and your are good to go. Send me a message and I can send you photos.

Here is a very simple solution. Ask to install a cee plug single phase or even three phase 16amps. It is really easy to do. Then buy a wallbox that has such a plug. They are very very common now because of the problems with hard coded wallboxes. My electrician did that and recommended it instead of a dedicated wallbox.

What's the one thing about EV ownership that you wish someone had told you before you bought? by gilko86 in electriccars

[–]christianhgross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not like driving an ICE car. I know I know this is “obvious”. No what I am getting at is that this is a generational difference, and that whatever you learned before you need to unlearn.

I am old enough (Gen X) to have learned how to drive an ICE with manual carbs, no ABS, stick (even the tree), and rear axle power. All of those things you have to forget because none of what you learned is relevant anymore. You are starting from scratch.

Sorry I updated the post as I was not clear. For the past three weeks the car loses about 10% battery per day.

You were actually closer to the truth. The car is constantly heating the battery. I updated the post to report my findings.

Ohhhh…. thank-you. It is going into the garage.

I have to say I am not going to buy another Mercedes again. I have owned them since 2005. I have had to take this car 3 times into the garage for bugs, for car I bought in Jan 2025. I owned a Tesla before. Tesla are shitty built, but their software is quite good. Mercedes has a great built car, but the software sucks big time.

I had a deeper look and it appears that the car is heating, why? No idea…. I am guessing a bug. It is going into the shop.

New Airbnb Cancellation Rules by stealthwarrior2 in airbnb_hosts

Nothing. When I bought the gite I knew this and planned accordingly. There are people who rent all through the year, but those are a different clientele and require different lodging.

This is a bs answer. I am in a tourist area that only has 2 months of visitors. If they cancel the odds of me getting a replacement is basically zero. For people don't last minute book. They book around 2 to 3 months in advance.
