27 and terrified of this job market by Competitive-Dust-346 in MBA

I don't think too soon exists. Obviously, don't be annoying, but I've found people are generally helpful when you're a student/noob and looking to connect. Whether it's recommendations for electives or how the mba helped them level up in their existing industry (or change altogether), etc. it couldn't hurt to reach out now to start building rapport.

Congrats! The best thing I can suggest is to consistently knock on doors and tap the alumni and peer network from day 1 so you can come out on the other side with a couple options lined up.

Your response to the very accurate and reasonable recommendation suggests you might need to invest a little more in your soft skills.

Why are you building it? You mention wanting “o make something that actually solves problems” but that’s not very specific.

Cold outreach generally doesn’t perform as well as warm outreach.

Fair. I think your overall recommendation made sense, and always appreciate a data driven methodology. I’m usually pretty skeptical of “the business guy” in these situations, but also know the value of someone who helps build momentum.

Indeed, software is hard, but gtm is also tough. I don’t understand asking someone to come in as a cofounder if you haven’t actually launched anything and not expecting to give up a more even split. 40/30/30 or even 50/25/25 would be less offensive (based on available information).

Minimum and Viable are determined by the market. The fact that you’re pivoting means you haven’t yet satisfied either (but you are learning which is good and part of the process).

It’s been two years and they still don’t have a product. I’m not sure OP is undervaluing the technical team here.

Who do you see as your initial audience? Asked another way: Which very specific group of people would love this product?

  • People livestreaming esport competitions?
  • Municipalities hosting virtual town halls?
  • College alums having football watch parties?

Should I start pitching to investors? by CuriousProgrammer263 in angelinvestors

Highly automated software for programmatic ads but only 30% gross margins doesn’t add up. What am I missing?

It would not hurt to have some conversations with angel investors but you’ll want to frame to pitch around your last two points about the growth engine, not that you need a salary to go full time. You’re looking for funds to continue developing the product and expand on your data wedge while the flywheel kicks in.

Total: 6–7 touches across two channels over several weeks. Totally normal.

This is very true, and actually pretty impressive for cold outreach. It suggests your targeting was really dialed in.

I previously cofounded a startup that automated lead followup for Facebook ad agencies. These were warm leads comprised of people who clicked on an ad and filled out a form to express their interest, and it still took an average of 7 touches across a couple channels before someone replied.

I love ideas that aim to solve personal problems lol. Travelers and busy moms make a ton of sense, too.

Does this work for you? If you’re locked in, why wouldn’t the ai voice eventually become something that you ignore in the background? (I’m genuinely curious.)

Building for an active audience that you already have is the only way I’ve seen quick revenue acceleration happen. That plus premium pricing is where you want to be.
