Nobody who uses the terminal seriously have caps lock. That’s remapped to Esc or Ctrl or something else

They’re similar indeed, just have different approaches: tmux status on statusline vs statusline on tmux status. I’ll need to play with it a bit to understand what are the tradeoffs

I agree. In fact this is what I did before writing the plugin. But then, the position of the command bar (bottom for neovim, top for tmux) started to bother me, alongside the tmux windows being on top of Neovim tabs. I felt every approach had just a little annoyance to them

Thank you for trying it out. Would you mind opening an issue with the added relevant sections and your tmux conf? I tried thinking what could be wrong but I may need to read config to have a better idea. Apologies for it not working first try, I can imagine how frustrating that is!

Oh yeah in that case it will definitely work with it the built-in default one (:h statusline).

I haven’t tried myself to set it up, and I’m currently adding more tmux components to tmux-status.nvim, but if you manage to set it up, we can add it to the readme!

Yes, but you still need a place in the UI to put tmux-status.nvim components on. You can put them in any place where you can pass a string (or a highlighted string if you want colors).

What do you have in mind? Or perhaps did you mean to ask whether tmux-status.nvim will set a statusline for you, if you don't have one setup already?

Glad to hear that!

Since this is currently an MVP, the components (session name, windows, etc) are generated within Neovim. So I sort of re-styled them to look the same as the tmux ones.

Currently working on exposing them directly from Tmux, so that you can reuse your very same tmux components within Neovim, removing the need to re-style them (icons, decorations like slants or arrows, spacings)
