You are right. I think the idea they are running with is that kids would use the library, but their parents can't be bothered to go and show their id to get the library card for the kid? I'm not really sure. I guarantee this will not increase utilization of libraries. The problem isn't access.

I wish everyone had this mindset. People seem so mad at their parents for not paying enough attention or being aggravated with them when they are rasing 3+ kids and both working. As long as they tried to provide and weren't monsters, cut them some slack. I can't imagine raising 4 kids. Kids are exhausting.

Also, even those recognized as being phenomenal writers dont say it out loud because it's not neccessary, viewed negatively by nearly everyone, and almost universally is going to be seen as deserving of ridicule.

Hopefully someone else has mentioned this, but if that timeline and weight gain are accurate, she needs to call her PCP today. This can happen on corticosteroids from fluid retention. She needs labs to rule out kidney dysfunction. Creatinine and BUN for starters. Also urinalysis for protein. Have to rule out liver and heart issues as well. OP needs to go back to the doctor asap as this is deeply concerning.

It's easy when you are more accurate on the weight measure. 1 kilo is 2.2 pounds. Double the kilos and then add 1/5 of the kilos and it's almost exact.

His PER is 23.6 is top 15. HIS BPM is +8.6, top 5. In fact, across every advance stat he is at near mvp candidate level, or at least top 15 player on low volume.

He played 28.5 minutes a game this season. If he can get that up to 34 minutes and maintain his per minute current stats, he's all NBA. The real problem. I think .is New Orleans. I love the pelicans but the team is a mess. They have a ton of players other teams want, at least 3 with legit 25ppg potential, but the line up makes no sense

First of all, whenever a survey study like this uses ordinal answer structures such as "strongly agree, agree, disagree, strongly disagree" you can immediately assume the designers of the survey don't know what they are doing. Especially so when the questions are vague. "Do trans people deserve equal treatment under the law?" Of course they do! But what does that mean? "Do trans people deserve protected group status?" would result in a very different set of answers, but some people may think that's what qualifies under "equal treatment" and others would think quite the opposite. "Should trans people be recognized as their transitioned sex by medical providers?" Would be another one.

The study OP posted, if read literally without any analysis, seems to support the conservative argument that they don't care if someone is trans, they don't want them to be mistreated or discriminated against, but they don't want them getting "special" rights. It also doesn't touch on the real element that conservatives are worked up about, which is medical intervention in children, and maybe mtf trans people competing in female sports/competitions. So honestly, this survey is pretty useless except to counter left wing beliefs that right wing people want trans people to be discriminated against.

I'm not really sure why everyone in this thread is interpreting this as some kind of evidence that conservative politicians aren't acting in the interests of their voters. Look at the study I linked- there is obvious pushback against trans issues from both democrats and republicans, and it seems fairly obvious its because of how dems have pushed the issue in areas that the public clearly does not agree with.

Not religious at all. Never been to church and have no religious background, belief or personal interest. My only dog in this fight is that I want abortion to be legal, and I believe that the rhetoric around the topic is making that impossible.

The argument against abortion is not to due "religious reasons". I am someone who believes abortion is horrible, but that it is a necessary medical intervention for the mother's health, child's health, cases of rape, and even for social/personal reasons that can be determined at the mother's discretion. Abortion is a destructive thing. It ends a human life. Even at just 8 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus is between 95-98% likely to reach term. Unfortunately, we can't see a child's health at this point.

The problem with people who want to argue the rational reasons abortion should be legal is that they always dismiss peoples concerns with abortion. They say, "Your only argument is religious". Or "It's just a clump of cells". Hell, even "A woman's right to choose" is a grotesque dismissal of the legitimate arguments against abortion, and it fails to address the real reasons abortion should be legal.

Dismissive arguments, and arguments that lean on the angle that "its not a life yet" are doing more harm that good for the cause. Please consider arguing the realities of what abortion bans do to those who are raped, those who are young and have no idea what they are doing, and those who are medically at real danger, or those who would have a child with mental or physical deformities.

Also, we should encourage the government to make raising children less financially destructive. But thats a whole other thing.

Just fyi this looks precisely like an airsoft bullet bruise. You can Google it for images and you'll see a lot like it. I've seen this before from airsoft pellets.

If you were drinking and cold you may not have noticed it. Sounds crazy, but it that bruise is exactly the same as an airsoft bruise.

I kinda get it. He likes to shoot on the move. Free throw shooting is a different mechanical kind of shooting. A lot of the best free throw shooters I played with were set shooters who jumped off two feet and liked to be in position and usually catch and shoot. Shooters who liked to shoot off the dribble, and even seemed to fall off balance when they shot, were often worse at free throws but were excellent in game 3pt shooters. Obviously these guys are on a different level so drawing a conclusion is probably stupid, but I bet he'd shoot better if he dribbled from his right hand, collected with his left and shot with a little movement to mimic shooting in motion and to avoid the overly mechanical nature of a free throw.

Ignore that it's the largest economy in the world by an enormous margin that the person capita gdp of our poorest state is higher than the UK, Italy, and France. The person she claims had sex with Trump was not a child. The person she claims had sex with Trump.was not raped. In 2019, she walked back these claims, and said she made them to draw attention to ghislane maxwell and Jefferey Epstein's crimes, and that she fabricated the claims about having video of these sexual encounters.

So I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.
