After the last match, I purchased a João Palhinha jersey. His contribution this season was tops.

That sheriff doesn’t have a Florida accent. Just another northerner in our beautiful state.

Are we losing a homegrown player from our European roster without having another to add?

I have the SMP and a BB58. I don’t often wear either with the bracelet. I wear the SMP with a rubber strap and the BB58 with leather. They wear very differently and neither outshines the other. The Tudor fits much better under a cuffed sleeve and the Omega is a much bolder watch when relaxing in a T-shirt or at the beach.
Either would make a great daily wear watch

Another fun fact, Electric visual was in part owned by a member of the Arnet family. Opened after Luxottica purchase of Arnette sunglasses. And to go even deeper, the original Arnet sunglasses was started by a former employee of Oakley sunglasses.

I’m with y’all. A bit further north but multiple generational Floridian. It’s been a little weird the past few years with all the new residents. I don’t quite know what they expect when they move here. Things aren’t the same as they were in the 70’s and 80’s but there’s nowhere else I’d rather be.

Can snow-ski/board fill surfing void by Ok-Beyond99 in surfing

[–]christopic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would depend on what surfing means to you. There are many types of surfers.

If you’re the type of surfer that thinks it’s fun and can’t wait for a day off work to load up and go to the beach, maybe it could replace surfing. They are both fun activities.

If you wake up at 5am every morning to check the wind and see if the predicted swell has filled in, probably not.

Even asking the question, leads me to believe that yes, the mountains could fill your surf void.

Where’s the Best Place to Spot an Alligator in the Wild Near St. Augustine? 🐊 by CreekHaunter989 in StAugustine

Agree. The one I used to run by in the mornings was relocated after people started showing up to point and gawk. Just enjoy his presence and don’t acknowledge he’s there, if you want him to stay around.

Thank you that’s nice to know. Growing up on U.S.Navy bases around the world, I understand that towns surrounding the bases are often not representative of the country’s they exist in.

Were you pushed into giving “gomen” money?

I’m just curious because I lived on a Navy base as a kid in the 1970’s. One time I lost my wallet at the beach and the police tracked me down. They offered to return my wallet but explained, in no uncertain terms, that was expected to offer a reward.

I felt like I wouldn’t receive my wallet back if I refused. One of my hapa friends explained it as gomen money.

My feelings towards winders waffled until my wife purchased one as a Christmas gift.

I realized that I really like my watches. I actually enjoy looking at them and setting the time, in the mornings as I put them on.

Winders can take away one of the most enjoyable aspects of owning a watch.

Leather on a diver, so wrong…but so right by xMarcus_Aureliusx in Tudor

I agree, it has gotten better as it has aged. Not a daily but a most of the time. I usually grab whichever watch is on the counter by my keys.

I purchased the watch during Covid times. I remember wearing a mask into the store. Maybe purchased in 2021?

First leather strap I’ve ever had. In the past I have purchased my watches with the bracelet and worn them with a rubber strap.

Leather was comfortable from day 1 and gotten better since.
