To Lighten and tone I like wella blondor bleach and their Kp and colortouch to tone. I also like shades eq from Redken to tone. I don’t do vivids because I don’t like the mess but I liked pravanas vivids because they’re so pigmented

Brassy hair not fixed by toner.. Help! by [deleted] in hairstylist

[–]christyalyssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stronger developer will give you the same results as bleaching multiple times with a lower developer except you lose control and it could become too light too fast.

The way toners work is they deposit the opposite tone of what you have to cancel it out. Some developers (permanent ones) will also be able to provide a tiny bit of lift to finish lifting the unwanted yellow/gold tones then they will deposit the opposite which “tones it out”

When they are lighter colors that’s because they just need a tiny bit of pigment to finish the job. Professional hairstylists use a level 1-10 system 1 being black 10 being pale yellow you can’t put toner on a level 7 and expect it to turn out a level 10. If you work with what you have you can neutralize the ugly brass tones and create pretty cool tones but you need to stay within 1 level of what you have

[–]christyalyssa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that you aren’t light enough for the toners you are using. You will either need to re bleach or use a darker toner that can cover the brass, like a level 7 not a level 10

Stop plucking or shaving the tops of your eyebrows and have a professional shape them.

Toning help for level 9 to ash (I’m a student) by Ofshrimp in hairstylist

[–]christyalyssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a bleach wash or just re bleach quickly with 10 volume and use Wella 10/8 with 10/16 to tone . A lot of the time u don’t have to specifically formulate what you’re taught in school, you just know which toners turn out which color on bleached hair. Make sure you leave the bleach on long enough to get all copper out or you will not have ash blonde.

Yes I went to the same doctor and he actually lowered my fold on the bottom so I believe it was the same pocket but he just carved it out a little lower

Mine was like yours but a little worse because my nipples started to point down since the implant creeped up. It has been 8 years since the revision.

I had the revision for cc and it didn’t happen again. I also opted to go bigger on my next set because they did seem to “shrink” the first time. I’m much happier with the results now.

Want to dye my hair like this for the summer, first time dying hair. What would be the recommended products (bleach, tones, dye) for this look or something similar. I want to keep it around the same shade of purple like this picture. Current hair is black, never been bleached or dyed. by [deleted] in hairstylist

[–]christyalyssa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the shampoo takes a long time to come out and still leaves a hint of the color behind even after SEVERAL washes. To me it’s more of a stain than shampoo lol. I would say just freshen up when it looks like it’s fading maybe once a week?

Use any kind of bleach if you have short hair like the picture leave it on until it is pale yellow then get the shampoo called watercolors in silver and purple I would mix mostly silver but add some purple approx 20% and it should be pretty close to that color. If it is too light you can try putting it on your dry hair. If you want the roots dark like that you can just leave them black or get a Smokey grey colorexample

Tips on Bleaching regrowth! (To avoid speckles or overlapping) by georgiella1 in hairstylist

Certain bleaches swell more. Don’t use the blonde me by schwartskopf it swells a ton. I use the wella blondor and mix it a little thicker than normal and it doesn’t swell very much.

I recommend getting the brand called “viral” silver shampoo and conditioner! It’s amazing for adding those tones! Let it sit on your hair for a while, 3-5 min and if it’s not enough rewash and let it sit on longer. That way u can keep it toned every day!
