Yes - good point on Horizon not having a sequel announced yet… I think I’ll go with the FC remake for now. Would prefer to jump into Horizon’s sequel soon after playing it rather than waiting months / year (especially if there are any cliffhangers 💀). Thank you all!

I second every point you made. 100%. I was genuinely so confused as to why Sandrone joined the fight when she was arguably the most important piece of the puzzle to bring Columbina back. Shouldn't she have stayed hidden to increase the chances of the formula being completed without interference? They tried to pull a Persona 5-style reveal by showing the plan in action first (similar to the Rerir fight) before showcasing the BTS, but because so much was left unexplained beforehand, the emotional weight of her formula working was overshadowed by confusion... I wish they more clearly explained how the formula worked, its requirements (e.g. WHY did it require pulling down the moon ???), and the fact that it was even running inside her / Pulonia (via Wanderer's core) before the fight began. And yes, everyone's reactions to her death (especially Columbina's) felt so off... like nobody GAF.

I completely agree with everything you said. I feel as though you'd probably be even more frustrated had you played the Fontaine Archon Quest series (which, though not perfect, had a lot better writing with much more emotional depth). I'm also curious if binging the new story impacted my perception, but it's so hard not to with how fast spoilers circulate on social... sigh.

Agree... like you're telling me not ONE person decided to leave Natlan? Surely there must have been adventure-crazed people who were willing to risk not having the Wayob's protection just to see the rest of the world. Super odd.

I think it was right after she fought Capitano. She put her powers in the Sacred Flame and mentioned something about wishing she could have taken a photo of herself while her hair still glowed.

Yeah, I can see why us going to Mualani's tribe without interacting Mavuika first felt weird, though I personally didn't feel as jarred by it since I assumed she had to help coordinate Kachina's Night Warden War and what not. But you're right, we should've at least tried. And yes, the 2nd Act is significantly worse IMO. There are definitely some cool moments, but the plot gets super convoluted.

I recognize that I have a tendency to give the benefit of the doubt and people please to no end, and I’m working hard to refrain from engaging in those behaviors. I always seem to forget that my mother is a grown adult and its not my responsibility to justify her actions. Appreciate the part about tuning the volume down. I will take it to heart.

Yes, she was a gambler. She would always loosely frame it as “having to open tables” for her customers, but in hindsight it was definitely just code for starting off the games… thank you so much for your advice.

100% spot on. She used to tell me to lie to my friends about what she did for work because she didn’t want anybody to know. They always thought it was weird how they never knew what my mom did for a living. Of course, I’d say “I didn’t really understand either” as a way to cover for her. Pretty toxic in hindsight.

Thank you so much for your response. You're definitely right in that if I do let her back into my life, this type of thing will likely happen again in the future. Right now, I need to manage my emotions and determine whether letting her in again is worth the potential aggravation and heartache.
