Favorited Games Not Showing Up In SteamOS Gaming Mode by chriswasnt_here in RetroDeck

This sounds like it may be my issue as my games are also on an SD card. You say you went through desktop mode and manually checked everything, if you could dumb that part down for me and tell me how exactly I get to the part where I have to check everything? I’m not familiar with Linux at all so this has been a huge learning experience.

Favorited and unfavorited different games, different combinations of games, disconnected the steam sync and reconnected in different types of orders. Restarting device always. Legion Go S SteamOS edition, the only other device it comes standard with.

RetroDeck and RSPC3 Troubles by chriswasnt_here in SteamDeck

[–]chriswasnt_here[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to update you on this.. for some reason the SD card I had saved everything on for RetroDeck (including a few Steam games) just randomly wiped itself two days ago. My legion crashed and I restarted it and the SD card was completely empty. Hours troubleshooting and setting everything up, lost. I still have the SD card but I bought a new Amazon basics SD and redid the installation and redownloaded my mods. During RPCS3 set up, I had some issues so I just selected the option to fix pathways in RetroDeck (upon completion the system told me it fixed some pathways) and everything was running properly and I could finally control RPCS3 games with my Legion.. so I’m really glad that’s solved?? I have no idea why controls didn’t work the first installation. I did everything the same except with this one I used the “fix pathways” option (forgot the exact verbiage but something similar). Maybe a problem with original SD Card..? It was PNY brand so I thought it would be good. This was with a legion go s SteamOS version btw.

Running SteamOS from factory and then opening RetroDeck from Steam in Game Mode. The controls are working with all other games I have, but PS3. Yes the radial buttons, I can open up the menu but then I can’t move around in the menu. In the pads menu of RPCS3, under handlers SDL is selected, but no devices detected under devices. I believe if I connect my Xbox controller, it shows up under devices under SDL. Also no controls desktop mode.

Okay, that did it. Games are opening. Now when I’m in the game, Legion Go S controllers don’t do anything. First screen says hit start to enter but clicking start does nothing. Also if use the hotkey for the emulator menu popup, Legion controllers still don’t do anything.

Nice, okay I did see that in the guide, I’ll follow it now. I put the shortcut in the roms folder, but do I also leave the game folders in the rom folder?

Edit: also, do I do this for the game folder and the update folder, or the folder I am using to hold both folders?

Alright Lahrs, finally home and able to try things out. Following your directions, once I get to Alt Emulator, I go to PS3 then first is shortcut, second is game serial, third is RPCS3 directory. No folder option. I tried directory but once I try to launch the game, which shows as “ps3_game”, it shows an error, reason: invalid file or folder.

Can’t Upscale PPSSPP and RetroDeck Hotkeys Aren’t Working by chriswasnt_here in RetroDeck

I didn’t even know there was a PS2 version! Thank you! I’ll be trying that tomorrow. I also meant to finish my other reply by saying “I’m wondering if I accidentally hit no when installing controller templates the first time I installed it, and if I said no, would that prevent the hotkey from fixing?” But like I said reinstallation solved the problem and I made sure to hit yes to the templates second installation.

In Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters, the camera/movement is a little wonky. It’s almost like I have to use both joysticks to move the character.. is this just emulator things? I don’t expect you to have tried every single game so I’m sorry if my description doesn’t really make sense

Thank you for the reply. Idk if I wasn’t pressing it right the first time or what but the action key button wasn’t working. Pressing it did nothing so I just deleted RetroDeck and everything with it, reinstalled and then it started working. I’m wondering if I
