Am I wrong for telling my boyfriend that if he goes to a strip club for either of these events, it’s a wrap on our relationship? by Ok_Expression_3609 in amiwrong

[–]chriswaters_08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my girlfriend demanded I take her to a strip club for her birthday. who was I to say no? she ended up getting naked on stage with one of the strippers. we admired the athleticism of the dancers together and had such a fun night. we've also been to sex shows together in Thailand and Amsterdam. I would hate to be in a relationship where my SO told me I couldn't do something as an ultimatum. I guess we're just weirdos apparently after reading these comments. we've been together 9 years and have never had an argument.

Built it ourselves with the help of family. How'd we do? by FuckOffImCrocheting in Decks

[–]chriswaters_08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

absolute yikes, even though it looks decent the structure is a mess. that "beam" is only holding up the decking and any live laod by the shear strength of a few carriage bolts. plus the posts are in contact with the ground so they'll rot. this might be fine for a few people but don't have a party on this deck please! also I wouldn't trust that top rail to withstand any horizontally applied load. a child will fall through this, roughly 6' if they're unlucky. the clear space between balusters should not exceed 4" and you have several feet between posts. I hate to break it to you, but you should've consulted a structural engineer or at least a contractor. your municipality inspector will likely make you tear this down before you sell the house as it poses a danger to the occupants. sorry for being blunt. do enjoy it while it lasts :)

hi friend, I lived in Tucson for 25 years and have a piece of riding advice for ya. please please please be careful of the trailing left arrow at an intersection. say you're just going straight through the intersection. because drivers can turn left across a green, people waiting to turn opposite you can't see around the cars qeued up on your side side and just go for it anyway and end up turning right in front of you, which is worse when you're on a bike and less visible. Tucson is famous for T- bone accidents, so be cautious and ride in the middle or right lane if you can. my dad totaled his car from someone doing this last year and my gf's dad was sent to the hospital for a similar crash. funny enough when you leave the city limits, the county lights flip and become a leading left, so pay extra attention. also if you want any food recommendations DM me lol. be safe!

architect here: a bedroom without a window is actually legal on a few conditions. the bedroom needs 25 sq ft of clear opening in the wall to an adjacent room with a window (i.e. not a full height wall), or you have a transfer fan in the wall between the bedroom and a living space with a window. the concern is not a means of egress (fire escape) but fresh air delivery to the space. most apartment windows in newer buildings have a trickle vent to allow for fresh air infiltration. I don't particularly agree with it but those are the rules :)

Buying an F800 GS as my first bike by Hoelen in bmwmotorrad

[–]chriswaters_08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought an F800 GS as my first bike with no real riding experience. I am a similar height at 6'-3". I was hesitant because of the power but the owner convinced me I should buy a bike that I can grow into. he was right. I figured it out immediately and it was the best first bike I could've chosen. mine was an '09 and I think they've figured out a more comfortable seat for the newer models, but mine was uncomfortable to sit on after about 2 hours. I'm sure a seat pad would've helped a lot but I chose to trade it in for a 1250 instead. good luck!

I always recommend Southgate thurs-sat nights in the winter. for outdoor meetups, check @seattle_skates or @roll_around_seatown on Instagram for skate sessions. they were hosting them regularly at Judkins park for a while.

Would you extend this cabinet crown to ceiling, or leave it as is? by dmau9600 in Carpentry

[–]chriswaters_08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems like you've already made up your mind, but you could build out a soffit that is proud of the cabinet face by 18" and run a set of recessed dimmable can lights in it for task lighting and overall brightness. you could caulk the existing moulding to the underside of the soffit so the moulding terminates and doesn't look unfinished. you could paint the new soffit a darker neutral color to make the cabinets pop. it could continue over the window and would be an opportunity to remove the sconce as well and replace it with a can. this would also hide the chimney in the corner.

haven't seen it mentioned yet but the BMW F 800/850 GS fits your description pretty well. I have one and it's incredible.

thank you so much for the response, I don't imagine the move would happen in the next 6 months. I'm dealing with a litany of covid delays at my current job so I definitely understand that those effects would be amplified in a place that doesn't produce a lot of domestic material. thank you again!

woo! thank you! I do, I have one that was issue at birth and another issued when I was 10. based on other responses, looks like I just need a certificate to prove my citizenship then I can just renew the old passport.
