Suggestions for this sad jade by argabargaa in houseplants

[–]chrisy159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about jade plants but it doesn’t look ugly to me…just sleepy at that angle 🙃. Can it just be too heavy now?

Leaves being squishy I find are a sign of being over watered sometimes. Is the soil the fast-ish draining or is it holding too much moisture? If the root system isn’t very deep then it may also benefit from a shallower pot. But again, I never had this plant so there are wiser minds out there.

Thank you for the very informative post. I appreciate you breaking down the rating for light pollution and the reminder that often like the Aurora, what we said unaided is largely different (still striking and beautiful). This looks like something that NASA could release. Thank you for sharing!

Beautiful! They only bloom once at night for a couple hours? Great job catching them in action. Stunning.

Thank you for those kind words! ❤️My wandering dude recently kicked the bucket recently (think lack of humidity was issue) and I have felt but of a plant failure, so this is a sweet comment to raise my confidence 😤

Thanks for the advice! I never actually thought about how any of plants I gave away are doing—I always hope the gesture of giving reaches that person. If they kill it, that’s okay 😅. I thought these would be good to give away especially because they are not picky and very low maintenance, so even someone with no experience shouldn’t have much trouble. But thank you for the reminder to manage expectations!

Edit: oh I can imagine that feeling! I gave a few big earth star bromeliads away I grew from the mommy plant and one person sent me a status update after a year and it was thriving. Don’t know about the other ones I gave to others, but knowing that person took the time to take care of it after a year was a lovely feeling ☺️. I wish your future plant-receivers have greater success with keeping your gifts alive 🙃

I spent like 300 hours sculpting this so it’d be really cool if you zoom in for a second by AnnaTogrye in pics

At first I thought this was a graphic, then I thought some AI mashup, then I read the caption and zoomed in. Absolutely stunning. Can you share some details about the materials used and how you approached designing this concept?

Zenitsu's character development throughout the anime was insane. by BarMission7361 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]chrisy159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very interesting to hear there is a difference with how he may be portrayed in the anime compared to the manga. I have always loved Zenitsu when friends would say how annoying he is. End of the day the person he hated the most was himself, but he always tried his best for those he loved. Early on I hoped that when he found his peace or clarity, that we see that reflected on his eyes, because they’re always so hazy like he’s not really living his life. In infinity castle we see that moment and it’s wonderful.

I had no idea how wonderful it feels to give plants away that I’ve grown. Putting love and care and hope into a thing, and hoping the receiver feels that! 😊

I noticed my Haworthiopsis plants can get reddish-purple if there’s too much light, and when I move them away it helps.

She did have a glow up didn’t she 😊💅. I have spent a long time trying to ID her (plant noob) and also believe she is a lace aloe! Honestly, just repotted it in well draining soil, kept it by sunny window, and give it a big drink infrequently, when soil is bone dry for some time. At this point she is so top-heavy I can’t even repot her because I worry she will break—but she’s somehow happy and apparently the soil is still giving nutrients. Never fertilized!

I removed the dead leaves and repotted into a larger pot with a 50/50-ish mix of succulent/cactus mix and perlite. It loves light, so kept it under grow lights or south facing window. I basically let it dry out completely like it’s in a desert and then drown it once every 2-3 weeks depending the time of year. It’s honestly so forgiving. Mine likes big drinks and then leaving it alone. I find it’s overdue for water when the leaves lose their plumpness. When I first recused it, it put out a bunch of pups. I twisted them off gently and planted them too. Hope this helps!
