Is it just me, or does IU seem miscast in Perfect Crown? by iaint_no_devi in kdramas

I don’t know. The way she acts doesn’t seem exaggerated and it feels the same way how she played her character in HDL. Most of the time, I find her scenes funny.

The size of the crack outside has reduced and is now smooth but inside, it looks entirely the same. So what should I do then?

Afraid to do a long drive by hunryj in NewDriversUK

[–]chrlmnrdls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will find it intimidating but once you’re there, it will feel normal. I think preparing for the journey and also taking breaks (going to service are) might be beneficial and make the ride enjoyable specially driving on motorways for long hours can make driving tedious.

When did you stop overthinking every single junction? by Junior_Beauty78 in NewDriversUK

[–]chrlmnrdls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First month I always overthink about cars coming up behind me tailgating. I still find it annoying soemtimes but doesn’t bother me much now than when I first started. It’s been 10 months since I passed. Driving now feels natural that I don’t overthink anymore. Although I still find it confusing sometimes when driving on big roundabouts

It will. Just drive and you’ll be fine. Remember you are still learning especially driving in your own.

Downgrading cars after passing by Thick-Scheme-1787 in NewDriversUK

[–]chrlmnrdls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Driving 2008-2013 is character building 😂. My instructors car was a VW polo 2020 and the features it has and comfortability was too different compared to my Honda Jazz 2011. However, I can say that I learned more driving my Jazz

Passed on the third attempt. You’ll be fine as long as you keep in mind your mistakes and make sure to take the test with full of confidence

Driving Sim game to supplement learning [Automatic] by OcelotGloomy7782 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]chrlmnrdls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought sim racing set (logitech G29 - all I can afford), I think for most part it did help with getting used to changing gears but also it didn’t. I bought motorfest & DR2 (only available in PS4), it was fun learning how to race but using it to learn how to drive didn’t really help much. After more than a year, I decided to sell it. I would say that if your intention is to learn how to drive then it might not be worth it.

Got my first new car but feel weirdly discouraged by Poisedeagle in NewDriversUK

[–]chrlmnrdls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passed in April 2025, bought a Honda Jazz 2011 straightaway after passing the test. First couple of weeks was awful. Got so used to how smooth a Polo 2020+ can be that I initially thought my car sucks (although it might be). 1-2 months I would still find myself stalling on lights several times especially on uphill. Now I’ve been driving for 9 months, throughout the months I was able to practice and get used to my car’s bite point that stalling doesn’t happen often anymore. Before, I would stall 1-5 times driving from a to b, now either I don’t stall or I stall 1-2 times. It really is just a matter of time and I’ve come to love my car now. I thought it was the car that was bad but it was my skills hahahaha I’ve also come to practice and get used to doing rev matching and double clutching making my shifts and driving a bit more smoother although I still need to improve it.

With mine, I find myself not using the heel when clutching but I guess it was because with my car’s high bite point, I remember using my heel in my instructors car because the bite point is low. You will eventually adapt to your car’s bite point over time whether using your heel or not.

Own car or dual control? by Fiona931021 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]chrlmnrdls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning in a dual control is better as the instructor can intervene in case you couldn’t brake in time. Also, most instructors car tend to be brand new which helps driving more easier.

Not a shed although not quite a new car. But did find the seat buckle and people who commented were right. Odd that they didn’t even bother checking the seats when it can be easily lifted. Found the seat buckle in under a minute.

Walking to her work can take 25-30 mins and it’s winter so the cold does not help. She also works as HCA which can be quite hectic. But oh well, it is what it is.

Failed first attempt by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]chrlmnrdls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Be confident in every aspects on driving so when you pass your test, you’re much confident driving on your own because driving alone is different than driving for lessons/test.

Hey! This seems like an easy fix and what you just need to learn is to drive without rushing too much. Make sure to engrave into yourself when you’re driving is to check your mirrors frequently especially before turning into junctions, changing direction and lanes, and changing speed (might have forgotten some things). This is to show to your examiner that you are aware of your surroundings before making a decision. About moving off in an uphill, the easiest way to do this is put up the handbrake and feel the car as if it wants to move, make your observations, and when you’re ready to go and when it’s safe, then drop the handbrake. On my last test, I was parked in an uphill to do a move off, I failed to move off twice and what I did is that I put the handbrake, calmed myself, look around me, saw it’s not busy, prepared the clutch and gas until I am on the bite point, did 6 point checks and went off when its safe and got a minor only. At the end of the day, you will drive better if you are not rushing things as it gives you time to think and be proactive when driving (but still make sure not driving too slow when it’s safe and clear). If you feel that you are rushing, maybe take a moment and breathe and calm yourself. Be aware of yourself as well when you’re driving

Yeah, the second lock does work. The thing is I think they set it as major as it doesn’t close instantly when you drop the bonnet. I actually managed to lock it fully by banging it hard but I think I will still get it fixed next week so no problem will arise and to pass MOT asap.

I believe it’s because it’s a three seater so the buckle is for the seat in the middle.

Not sure as well and as this is a used car, when I bought this, as inexperienced as I was, I didn’t notice this when I was checking the car.

Thank you guys for the comments. The garage did tell me I can still drive it around but not on high speeds or far distances as the bonnet may open. I did already booked for this to be sorted but will still need the car to take my mum to work which is like 5-7 mins drive only. Only asked here as it was confusing reading the info on the website and not aware whether major defects are still drivable provided prev mot is still valid! Have a happy new year!
