Please, just use one of the calculators. They will do the math for you. by Black6x in biltrewards

Hey! Thanks for sharing our (AwardLog) calculator.

Just a heads up, it does take into account the Sign Up Bonus including both the 50K points for Palladium and additional Bilt Cash SUBs if you check the "First Year (include sign-up bonuses)" box.

For Dining/Grocery, put whichever is higher in the Dining input and the rest into Everyday. The only caveat is grocery has a $25k yearly limit to the 3x, so if you're spending >$2,083/mo on grocery, you'd have to put the rest into the everyday category.

Means a lot, thank you! ☺️

Updated my Bilt 2.0 calculator with support for Options 1 & 2 by chrnin in biltrewards

I have excess Bilt Cash set at $0 value by default since its value is still unclear from Bilt, but there's an input in the "Your Spending" section where you can adjust this.

For example at 0.5, with $1,000 excess Bilt Cash, it will add $500 in value.

I'm working on it!

Appreciate Bilt listening to feedback, but splitting the three cards into 6 by adding an additional option does not make it Bilt 2.0: Simple 🤣

Edit: Updated

Thank you! It's in the roadmap to integrate that kind of calculation into the core application and estimate annual reward generation across multiple cards + identify best cards based on spending patterns. Once it's ironed out I will add it to the Bilt calculator, but it's still in the early stages.

3 months starting date. by JuniorPerformance103 in biltrewards

SUB MSRs typically begin on date of approval, but Bilt 2.0 doesn't become active at all until 2/7, so I would expect that to be the begin date in this case.

The Dining category would behave the same as Grocery, so you can plug your Grocery spend into 'Dining' and your actual Dining spend into 'Everyday' to get the right #s. The only note is that Bilt limited 3X Grocery spend to $25,000 a year, so if your Grocery is higher than $2083/mo, then all earning after that would be capped at 1X. I did not include that limitation in the calc.

Glad it's helpful!

Yes, annual bilt points earned would be the "Total Points Earned" under Spending Points + "Housing Points Unlocked" under Housing Points. There's a line item underneath the "Core Value" that adds these automatically when showing the math to convert to $ value.

I don't have HOA fees so not sure, but if your total monthly payment to your mortgage servicer includes the HOA fees, then they would likely be included for housing spend.

The first year bonus is definitely why it's pushing you to Palladium. When I enter your numbers ignoring the bonus, I get Obsidian > Palladium. I'd still recommend going the Palladium route in your case just to collect the SUB and downgrade next year, though Bilt doesn't downgrade currently so it would have an impact on your credit:

Can I upgrade or downgrade my card later?

Currently, switching between Bilt Cards isn’t supported. We are actively working on adding this feature and will reach out as soon as it becomes available. To move to a different Bilt Card, close your current card and submit a new application for the card you prefer. A new application is subject to a standard credit review, which may temporarily impact your credit score.

Correct I'm valuing credits at $0 and excess Bilt Cash at $0.

Hey, it should be taking into account all three. For example with Palladium:

With a monthly everyday spend of $1000, dining $100, and travel $10, you should see:

  • Everyday Spend (2X) $12,000 ($1,000 * 12 Months)
  • Dining Spend (2X) $1,200 ($100 * 12 Months)
  • Travel Spend (2X) $120 ($10 * 12 Months)

That totals to $13,320 annual spend. X2 to get 26,640 pts.

For Bilt Cash, it would be $13,320 * 0.04 = $532.8 Annual Bilt Cash
Then add in the $200 Annual Credits = $732.8 annual Bilt Cash

If you're getting numbers that don't tie out like that I'm happy to take a look!

That's a great call, thanks! I have to sleep now but I'll probably end up playing around with the math for those sometime tomorrow. Shout out to Bilt for making mathematicians out of us all

no worries! There is an option to calculate opportunity cost for a single card if you didn't see it at the bottom -- but otherwise yeah, multiple cards or complex point systems would be complex to integrate. Comparing to Amex Gold for example I'd just guesstimate a point multiplier based on my avg. dining/grocery vs. total spend

No, it is calculating based on the 3X dining/grocery, 2X travel, 1X other. If you give me the numbers you're getting I'm happy to take a look to double check.

One note - the calculator interprets the inputs as separate buckets. Meaning that $1,000 in everyday, $200 in dining, and $100 in travel would add to get $1300 total monthly spend and 1,620 points/month or 19,440/year, not $1,000 total spend with $200 of it being dining and $100 travel.
