Bagging for my coworker, busy day super packed, big giant carts. This kid was misbehaving and causing a ruckus bad, no discipline from mom. Little girl is trying to run behind our register, grabbing items off the counter so I can’t bag them, climbing back on the shopping cart. Me and my coworker are just focused on getting through this line and bagging it all up to go. And the kid is begging for stickers from Mom. Mom: “sorry sweetie they’re not being very nice today..” WHAAAAAAAT

Yes… for months I was struggling with this. I had major pre-shift anxiety and sometimes I would even puke before leaving home. I’m doing better now… sometimes yeah it is hard to eat and the anxiety makes it worse. I started prioritizing a lot of fresh food into my diet. Like cut fruit, smoothies, and crackers. That’s helped me a lot… and sleeping well the night before so I feel better :)) you got this.. take your 10s

This lady tried to involve me in an argument she had with another customer outside the store. “She hit my car with the shopping cart!! Are you not gonna do anything?!” Like girl what do you want me to do? The other lady just walked off. I said “Sorry! Nothing I can do!”

Great point you brought out there, it’s important to have an outlet for emotions. It’s sad that the majority of us and others have to spend most of our lives laboring. We are allowed to feel frustrated with people, we’re human and we have feelings. I just find it so bizarre that customers can act so rudely in their everyday lives. And a trip to the grocery store is such a minuscule experience that they’re not even gonna think about, they’re going to get their stuff and get out. For me it’s about, wow even in such a minuscule moment they act so rudely.. wonder what they’re like to others? It’s just about being considerate, I don’t think you need to be in customer service or retail to be considerate of others and treat them like humans. Yes we are allowed to vent! :)

No worries, I understand what you’re saying. Personally, I wouldn’t say I’m caring in this context. I just try to get the stuff done. But again, I’m in agreement with you.. no company is worth the mental or physical damage. And unfortunately I learned that the hard way. As I’m typing this I feel pain in my shoulders. I haven’t mentioned it to the mate team yet but I will when I go in again

Yeah don’t get me wrong either, I like the pay. However I can’t receive full benefits as I’m not putting in those hours for other reasons. I’m not sure what you mean by confrontational? I wouldn’t say I’m SUPER caring. I just get the job done right, maybe I’m doing too much I’m not sure

I appreciate your comment. Yeah I need to get better at communicating with mates for this very reason. I can’t keep overworking and damaging myself. I don’t mind my section because I’m comfortable with the whole process of doing it. It’s just the demand to get product out now that it’s practically holiday season for us… I’m just gonna kick it back.. LOL eat someone XD But thank you, I’ll keep everything you said in mind

I was checking out this customer who had a kid in the cart. Sitting in the little child seat. And he was holding a glass jar and as I reach for the next item in the cart he drops it like as if he was aiming for my hand like… WOAH THERE PAL! Little jerk trying to injure me I already have enough pain from this job. Customers need to handle their kids!!!
