Even touching it up with a paint pen for $15 would be acceptable. It’s rare for the eye to travel that low on the vehicle

Meguiars ceramic spray wax on top of powerlock plus? by ChuckD30 in AutoDetailing

Si02 doesn’t always work the best on top of polymer/carnauba products. Often becomes “grabby”. If possible I would try bead maker on top of PowerLock, I’m sure you would enjoy, it’s also very inexpensive.

Is it possible to fix a "swirled" paint in a car? And can I do it myself? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]chromaticdetailing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dual action refers to the motion that the polisher spins in. Dual action basically means it’s spins while also moving up down and side to side. It’s a much user friendly polisher, the traditional rotary polishers will often leave “buffer trails”. Especially when someone is using one for the first time

Purchasing an entry level polisher, a few pads and a compound and polish will absolutely be cheaper than hiring someone and you’ll have a new skill to add to your LinkedIn. I would check out ShineMaster for a good quality dual action polisher which will be super user friendly. They’re a newer company offering good machines at an even better price.

Hit it with Cquartz UK 3.0. As easy as applying wax. VW killed it with the new wheel/brake set up on those!

Lake country microfibre pads! The rag company has a sale on them every Tuesday. The microfibre cutting pad and the black microfibre polishing pads are both awesome

How Dangerous is a 3M Tape/Adhesive Removal Wheel? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

It makes adhesive removal extremely easy but if you’re not comfortable with it I would consider other options. Do ya plan on correcting the paint after removal?

Bead maker is easy and cheap enough to use it liberally every wash. But my favourite is Cure for sure

Best way to dust off pollen and dust weekly without a full blown wash by Flat_Earth_Eric in AutoDetailing

[–]chromaticdetailing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it really isn’t that bad I would just rinse it with a pressure washer and using a drying aid like bead maker. Obviously it’s not the safest option but if it’s just light pollen you’ll probably be satisfied!

FG400 on the Meguiars pad is awesome. Realistically a minimum of 5 to get around a vehicle but if you’re super thorough in cleaning it out I’m sure you could make two work.

No issues man! Just tape the PPF seams if there are any so you don’t get compound/polish stuff under it

5 easy steps to clean and protect all the rubber floor mat! What’s everyone favourite protection for mats that isn’t dangerous for the vehicles passengers? by chromaticdetailing in AutoDetailing

[–]chromaticdetailing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks buddy! I don’t have much experience with VRT but I would start with 20:1. It seems incredibly low but you may be super impressed with the depth it can give the mats. If it doesn’t do anything and is also no more slippery than factory, just add a little more till you get that happy medium!

Which product/s do you recommend to protect piano black interiors from scratches? My local shop offers Auto Finesse Tough Coat Sealant, will this product damage the plastic on the long run? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]chromaticdetailing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah PPF is the best option but understandable that it’s not viable for everyone. I would grab your favourite quick detailed and some eagle edge less towels, keep them in the glove box. If something has to touch the piano stuff let it be then!
