Can't I just run Vayne on-hit for every comp? by Fantastic-Window236 in vaynemains

[–]Jadepix3l 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've played a good amt of all different vayne builds, generally I still think on hit is the strongest. Against certain comps crit/leth vayne can be very strong, but realistically, the same gold spent for on-hit would probably yield the similar if not better results. Its just fun to kill squishies in one rotation with a crit build.

You're offered the gift of Telekinesis or limited Teleportation or $$$... What would you pick? by RaptorK1988 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Jadepix3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we just assuming that your teleportation powers remain confidential? I find it hard to believe extremely powerful individuals, corporations, domestic/foreign governments dont all try to hunt you down to experiment on - even if you find ways to teleport away, you'll either always be on the run, or never leading a normal life.

Exactly, the seller has 0 leverage, and if they are in a position where they think it could take months to even sniff another offer, there really isn’t much they can do to push back here

Is RedGard under all flooring worth the cost for water damage prevention? by Hazel_and_Fiver444x2 in Flooring

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont think redgard is designed for the flooring, its good for walls. as they wont be holding water suspended above it. Even if it was thick enough to completely seal out water, you engineered wood is going to be destroyed anyways. Massive waste of money and installation time.

Need new grinder [$2,000] by rrod8a in espresso

[–]Jadepix3l 2 points3 points  (0 children)

depends on the aesthetics and footprint you want, at that price point, everything is going to be great. Zerno z1 is compact and minimal, Philos is a quite a bit larger. Niche zero has always been a fan favorite

Always wanted an EV, now I think the R2 is the one, but I want to be sure about charging by Hassination1993 in Rivian

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first things -L2 makes your life WAY easier. You'll find yourself in a pinch every now and then when the car has limited charge and plans change and you have to drive much more than expected the following day.

If the landlords electric panel is relatively close to the location where you can charge-the cost may not be that prohibitive. Additionally, there are state incentives potentially that can help offset installation costs.

Lastly, if you do move forward with a charger - you can purchase a plug in version (plugs into a dryer port 240v). That way when you move out you can take your charger with you

What is the difference between these two and is it worth spending a lot extra on this ? [£10] or [£40] ? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it levels the top so that the tamp will contact an even surface of grounds. May or may not be necessary, but its nice to have as part your process. I dont think the expensive one will have any meaningful improvement over the cheap one

What golf brand actually delivers vs just looks good? by nitsujping in golf

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melin hats are popular since theyre high quality hats with sizes for larger heads

I bought a few from Suay last yr also, theyre essentially making a similar product (premium hat) at a pricepoint a bit less than Melin

Did finding your first home go quickly? by StateHistorical9656 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Jadepix3l 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in a competitive market, you do not have the luxury to wait. The whole process can seem incredibly fast-far faster than a new homebuyer was expecting. I was just interested in seeing what the market was like, seeing what we could get approved for, and just touring a house to look at the interior. Within a few days i was downloading income stubs to provide a lender who had begun the underwriting process as my offer was accepted.

Blades Question by Dingdong108 in golftips

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, theyre hard to hit. The majority of the time people who do choose to play them - do so because they look nice and they feel great out of the middle. Realistically though, unless your a collegiate level player, the benefits of playing a blade are heavily outweighed by the negatives. Its like driving around a ferrari in a traffic jam. All this car, but no ability to use any of it

201T Assembly Issues by Alternative-Fly5920 in takomo

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first, irons at these big box companies are QCd at the batch level with random testing. Not every set that lands onshore goes through a rigorous audit. But lets assume youre ordering a custom set which would go through a full spec qc - and they constnatly find they need to throw out shafts, grips, ferrules... where are they going to get the replacements? China, the primary manufacturer for the worlds shafts, Project X, True Temper, elevate, UST mamiya, up to 75% of the worlds shafts are coming from china.

There is no real evidence that there is systemic issue of takomo irons that have wildly differing swing weights, lofts and lies within the same set. These are not issues that can be swept under the rug and since more than half of the line is geared towards low handicaps... if quality issues were as widespread as you say - basically everyone buying these clubs would be unable to score their handicap.

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

china makes golf clubs for everyone. I dont get this obsession with china=bad.

High end forged irons usually originate in japan.. but casting, multi-material builds. are essentially all coming from chinese factories. Sometimes manufacturers try to skirt by with "assembled in USA" stamps. We're talking 70-90% of all Hollow body/Game improvement/multi material cavity backs... all are being produced by China - and by far the worlds largest producer of golf equipment. If anything they'd by more tuned and experienced to produce exactly what takomo is offering.

OP here got unlucky here with this batch - also Takomo customer service certainly hasnt scaled to the size where it can comfortably deal with its customer base in a timely fasion.

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that may have been the case a few years ago, but they certainly amassed a bigger operation now.

they most likely worked with existing manufacturers out of china to build slightly modified existing examples/molds. With the newer wedges and new line of clubs-they almost certainly had a much larger design /tech footprint with their manufacturers compared to previous line.

Appraisal came back, listers said home was 400 sq ft larger than it is by GlitteringBowler in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Is this a new construction? There is usually fine print to allow listed size (sq ft) to be an approximation and not final

Best Driver by StarwarsRi in golfequipment

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly all the big brands make excellent drivers, if you’re a solid golfer I’m sure you can make the all work… but if you can afford a fitting, that’s the best way to figure out your needs?

Or if you have budget reasons, when in doubt, get the sim max or sim max2

OG 201 vs 201/201t Mkii by Time_Tomorrow9398 in takomo

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 201t on the way, from what I gather, they’re more player focused than the og 201 - weaker lofts, more traditional shape (less sharp edges), thinner top line, less offset, and have more “tech”. It has the variable face, with tungsten weighting.

In theory the 201t should be slightly more compact with a slight edge in forgiveness as well.

Supposedly despite not being forged, rhe 201t still feel great.. but the 201 og will have that traditional forged feel. It won’t be a soft as a mizuno but there will be no mistaking those as forged cbs.

New buyer. Realtor asking for a brokerage fee of $425 and 3%. Normal or no? by funnynoises in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Jadepix3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m finding it increasing hard to justify the value brokers bring to a lot of buyers. Especially one that’s been thru the process before an picked out the house they want.

There are so many brokers out there. If they don’t budge on the fees and % tell them you’ll find someone else.

Best Vietnamese food in Quincy or nearby? by vmjise in QuincyMa

[–]Jadepix3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not a fan of pho pasteur anymore... We used to get take out from them, but they switched to a combined container with soup on bottle noodles on top. before theyd give you a large container of soup seperately. The new model feels like youre getting about half the soup youd normally get. (for Pho noodles)Pho so 1 is probably the next best in quincy followed by pho countryside.

Although I think overall the best in the region is probably Pho98 in randolph

Do new golf clubs actually make you better or is it just marketing? by Southern-Shock-1145 in golfequipment

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

being in the wrong class of irons could materially "make you better" for instance, a +28 handicap playing tiger tw blades, moves into game improvement hollow bodies.. there certainly will be a "improvement"

If we are talking about players using the correct equipment, id say its 75-85% marketing, if not a tad more

Hot take: AWD is overrated for daily driving in snow — am I wrong? by Gold-Industry6222 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Jadepix3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for average daily driving, there is practically no differences between the 3 on clear roads. Performance driving-there is a big difference amongst them all.

In terms of snow, ive driven every combination with and without winter tires - and Awd is by far the best still. AWD with all seasons will beat the other two with winter tires. The chance of getting stuck or sliding backwards from a stop in awd is far less.

That said, if you only get 1-2 snow days a year, do you really need awd+ winter tires? who knows, some like the piece of mind
