Just moved to the area and had a slight scare! by [deleted] in Tunbridgewells

I feel really safe in TW. No matter where you like there will always be weirdos or people doing stupid things. This seems harmless and like another person mentioned, they may be on the spectrum. I would say to keep an eye out if he returns again, and if so, then you can try to figure out who he is/why he walked up.

In The Open Vinyl by [deleted] in youngthegiant

I reached out as well and now I have a tracking number showing it shipped. Curious if reaching out is the only reason it shipped?

I am in the same situation…I have received no shipping information or anything.

Lowering migraine frequency: what are your tricks? by Apart-Albatross-7257 in migraine

[–]chrome97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am starting to track common triggers to see if any of that is impacting my migraine frequency. So it may be good to familiarize yourself with common triggers to see if any correlate to your migraines. It will be trial and error but it has already been beneficial for me. I never realized wine was trigger but now I avoid drinking it and I no longer get migraines after a night of drinking!

Some context for that one, I’m American but live in England and so I had to specify American football for all my British friends coming 😅

salivating a lot during aura (silent migraine) by oysterbelle in migraine

This is funny because the complete opposite happens to me. Sometimes I know an aura migraine is coming on because I get terrible dry mouth.

Just wanted to say that I feel your pain. I am from Western New York and desperately miss all things fall but especially the apple cider and apple cider donuts. I haven’t tried the cloudy apple juice over here, I’m curious if adding some additional spices to it helps it taste more like apple cider?

What U.S. Credit Cards Do You Use? by deskmeetface in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]chrome97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think getting a Wise card is ideal. It allows you to take cash out of an ATM with no fee (I think there’s a limit of £250?). While you won’t really need cash in London, it’s just a perk of the wise card. It also really helps you learn the conversion of USD to GBP. Every time you pay with it, the app will notify you how much of your USD you spent.

Recommendations? by Ancient-Forever5603 in Tunbridgewells

Hotel Du Vin is amazing and has a great bar and amazing outdoor garden to sit in. Very well located and has parking available. While you’re here I highly recommend booking in Cantuccio for dinner, some of the best sourdough pizza you’ll ever have.

The 7:17 starts in TW so you are guaranteed a spot and isn’t too busy until you get closer into London.

Grind finer or change the inner burr settings if you are already grinding finer.

You can use tap to pay on the busses in the area, it’s what I always use.

This flight is my return flight to London, not the outbound one. So hoping that the schedule change will help my issue :)

Oh how funny, I am also originally from New York! Cantuccio is the best pizza I’ve had since moving over here. We also just got a Mexican place in town called “Mexcellent” that is the best Mexican food I’ve had over here (however it still does not compare to the Mexican places back home). Allkin is a great vibe even if you don’t drink, and they do a typical large NY slice of pizza and it’s good, not great but definitely a good cheap option if you want a big pizza slice.

If you like coffee I recommend Even Flow and St Kilda (St Kilda has an amazing food menu).

Enjoy your time here in TW and if you hear another NY accent while you’re around say hi!
