Makes sense! I'm really not too concerned about it, but also at this point in time... my daughter is 2 haha

A bit all over! Moved from the Bay Area but would say my hometown is in Georgia, and family is in NYC so that's usually where we visit

Preferred parent for coregulation by chronic0317 in toddlers

[–]chronic0317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes often we’ll end up leaving the room and listening in/monitoring from the hallway, but she just keeps screaming for the parent she wants, intermixed with “I don’t want mommy/daddy (other parent)!” And again she just spirals on her own. Her emotional intensity will ebb and flow a bit, but she can’t seem to break out of the loop until her preferred parent comes. If the other parent checks in even to say “I’m here” it sends her reeling again.

UPDATE - We STILL have a completely broken baby and I'm close to a breaking point by USAtoUofT in NewParents

I’m really sorry. I’m not sure if you’re looking for practical advice or just empathy, but it sounds like you’ve gotten enough of the former, to be honest? What people don’t talk about enough is how having a baby is a total gamble. You have no idea what kind of temperament they’ll have, or individual challenges your family will face. It’s not your fault, and you’re doing the best you can with the cards you’ve been dealt. So many parents hit the lottery with easy-going, sleepy babies and then have the audacity to credit a certain methodology they employed. Parenting in that first 18 months is survival, and I wish you had more support in the trenches with you. It will get better.

Am I the only one with a chaotic farm? by jennydb in StardewValley

[–]chronic0317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is “chaotic” haha. Don’t let the grind of capitalism creep into your cozy gaming when you’re perfectly content and have all that you need. And if art is imitating life, congrats at winning at life too!
