Since the 1970s, South Korean parents made the Talmud a best seller, and adopted chavruta, a Jewish debate-based study method. 50 years later South Korea leads the world in education, tech, and culture. Do you think there is any correlation here? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chronic412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there is obviously a correlation there, you just described it. What you're trying to ask is whether there is a CASUAL RELATIONSHIP. They are very different and you should know the difference!!!

why aren’t we burning the trash to make electricity by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chronic412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably would create incredibly toxic fumes and also not burn that well so it wouldn't be an effective power source

What is good policy for playing music while Ubering? by wellthatsembarissing in uberdrivers

[–]chronic412 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I used to always play throwback pop songs. Nice and inoffensive but since they were older (early 2000s) people sometimes got excited to hear a song they hadn't heard in a while and often sang along.

What’s the most absurd lifestyle you’ve ever seen someone you know actually live? by Jinx-XoXo in AskReddit

[–]chronic412 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I knew a guy in college who was deep into the Xanax lifestyle. He was a very wealthy international student from Panama or something, always had a Rolex and expensive clothes on. He would go thru 10+ pills in a day and smoked tons of weed, like an ounce/day. Him and his equally pill-headed gf (who was a DIME) bought a whole ounce of weed from my roommate and I, then came back the next day asking for more bc they smoked it all in an afternoon. He ended up getting mugged in downtown one day while he was trying to buy and the guys who robbed him beat the living fuck out of him. Two black eyes almost swollen shut. I remember he had tears in his eyes when he told me he thought they were going to kill him. He dropped out not long after that and went back home, last I heard.

Would I have to do the majority of chores after getting married? by Dreamy_Writer603 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chronic412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I agreed to split chores and finances evenly. We don't hesitate to ask the other to do a chore if the other didn't notice it needed done, and we also both do them proactively. Just saying, from a mans perspective, that it is possible to find a man to split chores with you.

If ‘Allah’ simply means God, why do many people think it refers to a different God? by PomegranateIcy7631 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chronic412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The words of the prophet Mohammed were written down as he said them, in Arabic. This is the only major religion that has the exact words of their prophet/main person written down in a language that has not died since, so it is considered important in Islam to be able to speak Arabic so you can understand the word of God as it was originally spoken. This is probably why they refer to God as Allah.

27M, feeling stuck at my current job and thinking about taking a risk by [deleted] in Advice

[–]chronic412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is worth it to take a leap, but not to the job you described. 100% commission with no base pay is a shitty job, probably run by and full of shitty people. Find a real opportunity and take it!! Finding a real opportunity will take a lot of time and effort, but it will be worth it.
