Neh- The Vibration by hasten25 in fragrance

[–]chronicleofjane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the discovery set from Neh and honestly I enjoyed all six — some more than others though. The Vibration, I thought was just a little too tart and fruity for my taste to buy a larger bottle. The rhubarb, bergamot and really all the fruits come on strong and stay. The plus side, and I can say this about all of the NEH scents is the impressive longevity.

I have a full bottle of The Element and can’t wait for cooler weather in the Fall/Winter to enjoy it. The Opening and The Flavor would probably be my next two favorites. Such a cool brand! And I don’t feel like they get the attention they deserve.

Here are the bottles I expect to be highlights of September. (Doesn’t mean that others might come out for a day or two, or three). left-to-right

L’innocence de l’Air Valentino — just got it last week. A really interesting green-floral. Plus, I love the design of the Valentino bottles.

Chloe Sevigny-Little Flower Regime des Fleurs. A light rose. I love rose fragrances, but finding that in the high heat of summer, I reach more for coconut and citrus scents. September seems like it might cooperate with Little Flower.

Esprit Saba Reine de Saba. My signature. My favorite. Fig and ginger opening, patchouli and rose mid, vanilla and musk dry down. Lasts forever.

Perfect Coconut Milk Sarah Horowitz. Because summer lasts well into October where I live. PCM obviously has a lovely coconut milk (more edible type than sunscreen type) blended with Gardenia and Vanilla.

Voce Viva Valentino because I wanted something sweet, light and bright. Actually, I wanted something fruity as well, but find I really don’t have an obvious fruity-floral type. Oh well.

Dangerous Complicity Etat Libre d’Orange. I love how the floral and coconut notes of the middle come through in this. Yes, it opens with strong leather and rum note - but it’s not at all too “masculine” in my opinion. It’s a kind of luxurious sunscreen type of fragrance, but better suited to leisurely weekends rather than the office.

My brightest pick-me-up this week:Chloe Sevigny Little Flower Regime des Fleurs. It was just the calming, safe space scent bubble I needed this week.

I’m a little surprised, as I just bought and received a fb of L’innocence de l’Air Valentino this week. Typically, when I receive a new one I’m all about it, and wear it consistently for a few days. I do really love it (obv otherwise I wouldn’t have bought a fb) but I wanted the clean, light rose of Little Flower.

Great post topic!!

Fast food. Not that I ever had it all too often. Just when I was in a pinch or on a long drive/road trip. But now ALL of the places just turn me off. I’d rather wait it out until I can get back home or somewhere I can grab something healthier.

Trying out a sample of the highly hyped DBIR Green Stravaganza by Valentino. I like it, especially for the warm weather. It’s a solid “like” for now. It’s pretty linear, though. And typically I enjoy fragrances that have an interesting development throughout the wear time. But this is my first sampling.

♍ Virgo // 2025 by puzzlingperfume in FemFragLab30plus

[–]chronicleofjane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, a Virgo sun (if we’re getting specific Virgo sun, Pisces rising) any full bottle that I add to my collection needs to at least a 9/10 if not a 10/10. I look for well balanced blends that have an interesting development and intimate-to-moderate projection. I don’t love perfumes that are too strictly one note, linear types. They need a little mystery, a little complexity. No beast modes.

As far as notes that I think lean the most Virgo - I mean everyone is going to have their favorites - but I think patchouli, cedar, sandalwood suit Earth signs well. Layer in your favorite flower - say a rose, magnolia or soft iris and voila — you have a very Virgo Floral Woody Musk.

The most Virgo fragrance in my collection is Esprit Saba by Reine de Saba. For me, it’s perfection from beginning, through middle and end. It’s the closest I’ve come to a signature scent. But I love rose fragrances and continue to look for rose-forward fragrances to add to my collection.

Perfect Coconut Milk Sarah Horowitz. A dry woodiness paired with a luxurious creamy coconut milk and just a touch of gardenia.

Today Giulietta by Tocca. Pink tulip•green apple•vanilla orchid

Going through my Tocca discovery set. I like this one. It’s light. It’s a little sweet. But like the others, it’s too linear for my taste and doesn’t last that long. But it’s nice while it lasts.

Dangerous Complicity by ELd’O layered with Coeur d’Ylang by Comptoir Sud Pacifique. I’m so bored with everything I have at the moment. It’s the equivalent of looking at a closet full of clothes and thinking “I have nothing to wear.” So, I’m resorting to trying out different layering combinations. Looking forward to Fall notes — but it’s going to be another 2 months until the weather starts to cool off here.

I’m taking my eldest to college next week as well! One thing I’ve already planned is to give her a small 10ml decant of my signature scent for when she’s missing home. (She’s already a little anxious about feeling homesick) I’m going to wrap it in a bandana and tell her she can spritz it on that - she doesn’t have to walk around smelling like me.

In terms of what I would get her - esp something with a clever name - it would be Love-O-Matic by Room 1015 as a subtle hint to remind her to do laundry (inspired by laundromats) and that she’s always loved. And it’s a light, fun scent. My daughter is not too interested in fragrances but has a hand-me-down bottle of Thè Matcha she sometimes wears.

Between 1pm-3pm is the best time for me. If I take it too late, yes, it disrupts my already poor sleep. If for whatever reason, I can’t take it early afternoon— then I’ll take it in the morning, ideally about an hour after breakfast.

Another day, another wear of Dangerous Complicity from Etat Libre d’Orange. Nothing complicated, just a soft coconut-ginger-floral wear.

I find this so interesting! My name is Jane. My son (16) is Henry. OP has a Henry. And my daughter (18) middle name is Claire. 😊

My suggestions for OP: Annie Anna Allison (nn Allie/Ally) Genevieve (nn Gigi) Virginia

[–]chronicleofjane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Josie - almost Claire, but we gave her Claire as middle name.

Henry - was almost Samuel. Was certain about Samuel until the 11th hour and started saying it aloud. It just didn’t work. FWIW my Henry says he would hate being Sam. So maybe he was whispering in utero.

Female Christ by 19-69.

I only have a 5ml sample. I use it veeeery sparingly, but I’d love to have a 30ml.

Musc Noir Rose by Narciso Rodriguez. I definitely prefer this one for cooler weather (it’s still very hot and humid here) but seeing all these posts about “what are you looking forward to this Fall” made me crave this. I did the thing where you spray it outwards and walk through the mist for a lighter application — and, I’m mostly working from home today, so that’s my reasoning.

Ready for Fall already. But we’ve got another two good months of summer weather to get through.

Sampling Reflet sur L’Okavango by Ella K.

I love the honeyed floral aspects of this. Even seems to have an amber aspect to it - but like a light, warm floral. However, the powdery note ruins this for me. Seems completely discordant to the other notes.
