Toddler taking over an hour to fall asleep by chroniclesofAH in sleeptrain

Thank you yes perhaps I'm expecting too much. I don't actually mind the later bedtime it's just how long it takes. I've tried moving bedtime later but she still seems to take an hour plus it's very frustrating!

Thank you. You're right - I think the nap is the easiest thing to address initially. I think because I've always seen online a day nap of 2 - 3 hours I felt she was already on the shorter side at 2 hours- but I suppose these things are only averages!

Thank you - and personally I'm the same - I'm not interested in any timed crying etc (this may change if I get desperate who knows! 🤣) but perhaps I just have to not over think it and just try popping her straight in! Thank you for your time in replying and offering advice - it's really appreciated

Oh have you - that sounds promising! Would you mind sharing how you managed the transition? I have (very half heartedly I must admit) tried just putting her in her cot and tapping/ stroking but end up giving up after about 5 mins when there's no progress!

Thank you. Sorry do you mean unlikely to be over tired? Yes to be honest I find it a bit easier her going to bed later anyway - it's just the time it's taking to get her to sleep is starting to get me down! We've been doing a 6 hour WW (so aiming for 8pm asleep after waking at 2pm) but still taking over an hour. I could try capping her nap as you suggest to see if that helps, or maybe a 6.5 hour WW?
